Yummy Shophouse Eatery! A hidden gem specially at this part of town with a different take on a traditional kaya toast. They use a fluffy bun instead and the kaya spread is so good! Also tried their beef horfun and sambal fried rice. Both are better than most hawker centers and at $5 its a steal! The eatery is quaint, spacious and really have the shophouse vibe with an army of uncles efficiently busing orders and cleaning the tables. Eating here is not only for having a great meal but an amazing local experience as well. Going out, I saw the chicken rice that looked super yummy. Will try that next. ;)
The toast is nice. It’s different from the usual thin toasted bread. It’s more fluffy but yet still nicely toasted on the outside as it’s thicker. Peanut butter is nice but the kaya is not as strong as others.
Peanut butter is nice, they kinda expect everyone to know what and how to order as there's no menu. But staff answers when asked. Beeper to collect bread, staff serves the drinks and eggs to u. Q moves fast. There's 2 Qs. 1 for drinks and bread, the other for cooked food. $9 for breakfast. Bread is nicely toasted on top, it's soft and fluffy below.
