Japanese Chinese fusion, so if you're after pure authentic Japanese taste, you might be a little disappointed.
Generally, the food are tasty and fresh, no complaints there. Price is very reasonable for the serving and freshness.
To the management, you might also want to reconsider removing the magazines as almost all of them have adult content.
Overall the food were good. Regret ordering the uni only, it has a rather stinky taste.
The rest of the food were rather tasty and prices are very reasonable. A go-to family restaurant.
Family-owned Japanese restaurant 🇯🇵🍣
Overall experience: a decent Japanese restaurant with a variety of choices at an affordable price.
We went to Hakata Japanese Restaurant at NeWest on Mother’s Day so this place is pretty crowded. It’s a great Japanese restaurant with a wide range of food - from sashimi to cooked food. A good place for Japanese food to hang out or for family gathering. Slow service but staff is pretty nice.
Sushi set 🍣
Sushi is fresh and tasty. The set also includes miso soup and a slice of watermelon.
Sashimi rice bowl 🍚
I was surprised by the portion. Ingredients are fresh and there is a variety of sashimi.
Soba tempura set 🍱
Tempura is really well done. Highly recommend it. However, the sauce for soba noodle is too bland.
Deep fried oyster 🦪
My first time having oyster. It’s freshly fried so it’s very crunchy and juicy. I actually like it given it’s my first try.
Chicken ramen 🍜
Considering the price, the broth is alright. But not a place if you’re looking for a high quality ramen.
We also order a beef fried rice but it is served after we finish all the food which is like 40 minutes after we order. We ended up doing takeaway. We heated it at home and it’s pretty average.
