It’s been a while since I had tummy worthy hokkien prawn mee! Boon Lay Ho Huat is my #1! This stall is usually very crowded during peak hours.
The original stall has been running in Boon Lay for 40+ years. This outpost at China Square is run by the second generation!
Love the richness and sweetness in the prawn stock. The style here is the slightly wet type, executed to perfection, just the way I like it. Also love the fact that there is all the right elements - prawns, sotong, chives and towgay, and even pork belly pieces for those who love it! Very generous!!!
The best part of the dish was the perfectly fried egg. Otherwise, it was pretty decent, not too oily. You can always try the hokkien Mee here which is very average.
I think the fried rice is surely the better of the two options.
This shop sells only two menu, seafood fried rice and prawn fried noodle (Hawkkin mee). Simply good and delicious and I use to have my lunch frequently.
It is a branch in CBD and main shop is in Boon Lay Shopping center
