It is an impressive and trendy cafe that runs by senior citizen group. The cafe also organizing lots of activities for the residents, such as Italian crusine cooking , dancing yoga classes and many more.

Great value for money offerings. Cappuccino and vegan banana cake for $6.50. I found the taste to be average but still v pleased at this price point. I've definitely paid more for worse many times. Environment was clean, fresh and quiet. Not even background music. Ample power sockets avaliable too. Was able to knock out a couple of hours of solid work. Best of all, seniors working there were v friendly. Great experience, keep it up! Some of the more swanky hipster cafes can learn a thing or two about how personable service can make a big difference.

Operating Hours: Every Wednesday - 12pm to 8pm Mon, Tues, Thurs, Friday, Saturday - 12pm to 7pm Sunday - Rest Day Credits to Mothership for providing many of the information in my post. SASCO is a Senior Citizens Home Organization and this is a Modern Trendy Cafe located in Khatib Yishun that is set up and completely run by Seniors Aged 55 and Above. The Concept of the Cafe is admirable as the Seniors are paid an allowance and undergo training to contribute back to the community and give them a sense of purpose. The Interior of the Cafe is Nicely Airconditioned, Warm and Cosy and doesn't look any different from any other Trendy Cafes. The Foods they serve are sourced from a Japanese Bakery "Asanoya" while their Ice-Cream is sourced from "Smoocht". To be honest, i've never heard of these 2 before. I attached a picture of their menu and I feel the prices are actually quite reasonable. I had wanted to try their Waffles but was told it was out of stock, so I bought the below items to review instead: 1 Drink + Cake/Pastry Set = $6.50 Each Ala Carte Cake/Pastry = $3.50 Total I Paid = $13.50 Hot Cappuccino I'm not gonna fault their Cappuccino Art lah since they're Seniors. At least they tried their best. This taste alright as a Cappuccino. Ham Cheese Donut This one feels overly oily at first bite, but the Cheese and Ham within tastes nice. Asanoya Cheese Tart I like this one the Best! The Cheese Tart is Super Soft, Creamy and Crumbly. This tastes really Good! This is a MUST TRY! Vegan Earl Grey Lemon Cake Love the presentation of this cake as the dried lemon slice and flower bits make it look and taste very Atas. Very dense cake, crumbly, and the taste kindda reminds me of a Mooncake dough with a nice mix taste of Earl Grey and Lemon. All in all, I really do like this place and the cakes / pastries they offer do taste good. In fact, they taste so good, i'm interested to find out more about this "Asanoya" Japanese Bakery. But the Real Beauty of this place is where you can see all the Elder Aunties at the back working hard with their Pastry Making. They look so Adorable! ❤️ I LOVE the Smile on their faces when I gave them a Genuine Compliment about how good the cakes tasted. Throughout my stay here, I felt that my money is well spent as it will probably go to help this SASCO organization in helping Senior Folks too. That said, I'm sorry I have to remind this but because this place is run by seniors, please give them some leeway if they're a little slow with your orders or even forget your orders. If you are the impatient type that expects Fast, Efficient service, this Cafe is not for you. Please don't be a "Karen" or a "Ken" and embarrass yourself at this place. Thank you.

A serene and comfortable cafe located right at Khatib MRT. Baked goods are obtained/outsourced from Asanoya Bakery so I personally would not fault SASCO for them. The service staff here are elderly folk (unsure if they are paid/volunteers) so it would be ideal if we not be too quick to criticise their customer service too harshly. I believe that SASCO made the intentional decision to hire seniors as part of their wider organisational mission of promoting active, dignified ageing. Overall, excellent place to seek refuge from Singapore's unforgiving weather, but do tamper your expectations accordingly.

Always passing by. Today decided to stop and look at the poster, found it is actually hiring elderly as the staff. Decided to give it a try. Bought the set, mocha+pain au choc. Wanted to asking for selfie with aunty barista but I shy. Hahaha anyway a unique concept cafe. Rate 7/10 of the mocha, if compared to great cafe standard.

It is a great place to chill with. Quiet, cozy, friendly staffs. An affordable place to spend your valuable time. Coffee aroma is great and rich, being said that, there is still room for improvement for bread they served. Can’t wait to visit again.
