Excellent hawker stall to fill up on some tasty seafood. I absolutely dig their black pepper crab, the sticky sauce is fragrant, zesty and packs a pretty punch. The live mud crabs they use are big and meaty, really good quality. Other stand out dishes are the tiger prawns, which are massive and full of that lobstery goodness, and the stingray. The latter is especially succulent and plump if ordered in the bigger portion sizes, which I did on another visit here. The pictured is the smallest portion size at 12$. Prices are very competitive given the popularity of Newton food center and the service is fast and efficient. By the time of my visit they were awarded with a Bib Gourmand by the Michelin Guide, which I would say is fully justified.

We ordered 1 chili crab and 1 pepper crab and fried mantou 🦀 It takes a bit long to have our food because of too many people I guess but anyways the mantou with chili crab is 11/10!! And the crab is nice also~ If there’s no plan to go other famous crab restaurant, the crab here is worth a try for visiting SG!

Go to place in Newton. More expensive than heartland zi chars but the ambience in Newton can't be beat. Chili crab is probably one of the best out there. All usual dishes are good, even the kangkong is good. Courteous staff as well.

It is a shop listed in Michelin Bib Gourmand. The chilli crab seems to be famous, but I stopped because it was a seasonal price and I was alone. The seafood fried rice was the smallest, $ 6, but it was full of volume with lots of shrimp.

Very tasty food here. Try the sting ray and chili crab with the sweet mini buns. Both are spicy, the sting ray is a little more spicy than the crab, but is very tender and I love the flavor. The crab comes with plastic gloves so you don't need to destroy your hands while eating, and the bread is fantastic for dipping into the sauce or just an intermission from the seafood. We also tried the calamari and hollow vegetable. The calamari was very tender and was my wife's favorite. The hollow vegetable used the same sauce at the sting ray so the flavor was a bit repetitive. All in all, the spicy food along with a cold beer in the humid hot weather was amazing!

Another Michelin recommended hawker stall at Newton Circus, and this is a seafood zi char. In Singapore terms, freshly made upon order dishes. The recommended dish here is the Singapore Chilli Crabs. Though they offer many more popular Chinese zi char dishes, including BBQ stingray. Stall presentation is clean and customer service friendly. On crabs order you will be given plates, cutlery, gloves and paper tissues at your table. Excellent comparing that most stalls in Newton uses disposable foam plates and plastic cutlery. Not too long a wait even during early Sunday dinner time, we only waited 20 minutes. The smallest portion ordered since we are here for many other popular beer food. $40 gets you a 400-500gm size Sri Lankan Mud Crab. The crabs were fresh and tender, flavourful. Chilli sauce was a good choice. Unlike many places, where the sauce taste like watery ketchup, here you can taste crab umami in the savoury egg sauce, and the viscosity is perfect in coating the crab and mantous. A little more and it becomes heavy, a little less, watery. This is perfect. We also ordered some sambal kang kong to munch. Crunchy and the bean paste shrimp flavour comes through. Singapore's famous chilli crabs that doesn't burn a hole in your pocket. Definitely coming back for more
