The fried chicken was definitely the star of the meal.
I made a booking for a weekday lunch but it was practically empty when I stepped in. My partner adores Korean food and she's a good judge for it.
The stew we ordered was apparently not flavourful and thick enough, and lacked certain ingredients.
The fishcake was good. The soup was great as well. Slightly milder for those who prefer something that isn't overwhelming.
The fried chicken was excellent and it caught me by surprise. Its something I'll definitely order if I return. I'm quite particular about my fried food so I believe I'm a good judge to this dish. You can also ask the staff for more sauce!
Had dinner at Guksu on a Sunday evening. Food was quite good overall in my opinion although my children thought that it was not so tasty. The portion was reasonable for the price we paid and the staff in the restaurant were very polite and attentive to our requests. Overall, I would say that I like to dine there and will go back again.
Affordable lunch deals, free flow drinks (Barley tea for those health conscious and to cleanse your taste buds from the Korean spice), free flow side dishes.
Could have better customer service, server lowered his nose to smell the chicken to tell us the dish name. Food safety standard much?
Bought a $39.90 deal off Fave and opted for the Gamja Tang (potato and pork rib stew). The broth was rich, milky and savoury, with a strong taste of bean paste and Chinese preserved vegetables. Contrary to how it looked like, it was in fact not spicy at all. There was an ample amount of ingredients good for feeding 3-4 mouths: enoki mushrooms, Chinese cabbage, leeks, kimchi, potatoes and leafy greens that looked and tasted somewhat like a cross between sweet potato leaves and preserved vegetables. The pork rib pieces were a tad tough at the start, but came off cleanly towards the end of our 45-min meal. We counted the pork bones at the end and were pleasantly surprised to find 13 large ribs in our stew! It was a satisfying traditional korean meal, and I would choose it over the more popular style of Korean fusion food (over-sweetened, lots of processed meats) anyday!

A very characteristic Korean restaurant. The portions are very abundant and very good have been all the dishes we tried. The vegetables, especially the beancurd, tasty and not spicy, are a valued accompaniment to the whole dinner. People are quite nice and available and the barbeque and chicken are delicious. A very good place to have a dinner all together.
Good service. Staff were friendly. Had the lunch promotion. Either hotpot with 1 piece fried chicken or hotpot with dumplings. At $16.90++, it was quite reasonable. Free flow of side dishes (4 types: kimchi, raddish, yellow pickles, salad) & drinks (Korean tea hot or ice, and various softdrinks from the dispenser). Choice of hotpot with rice, instant noodles or glass noodles. The hotpot was thick & flavourful. The fried chicken was crispy.
