Much vaunted handmade noodles in Bukit Merah with purportedly long queues. I arrived at 12.30pm and was 4 in line. Lady comes down the queue to take your orders
Not very impressed as the mee hoon kway was not hand torn resulting in clumping together after cooking and they used Bok Choy instead of Sayur Manis. The broth was normal, chilli was very good and the ikan bilis was not crunchy. As you get to the bottom of the bowl, the Kway becomes more and more chewy. Portion is big for $4.
I did observe an act of kindness. The lady taking orders told an older customer not to queue, to go find a seat. She promised to deliver her order. For that, they got an extra star.
Cheap and delicious! Ate on a sunday 1pm. Queue was long (6 people), but very fast. Very good service too :)
Ban mian soup is very flavourful and not too oily. The noodles are yummy and the pork is delicious. The vegetables dont have a medicinal taste and go well with the soup.
The ikan bilis is not extremely salty and is actually crispy! They gave a large bowl with many noodles for a low price of $3.50. Totally worth and will eat again!
The best ban-mian in Singapore. Soup base looks bland but it’s very hearty. Lots of good stuff used to boil the soup. Fresh ingredients and the prawns were huge. Noodles were cooked just right. There are long queues here but it moves fast. Delicious and cheap! Recommended.
Broth is thick, noodles are springy, decent meat to noodle ratio. As tasty as per all other reviews
Order the Mee Hoon Kueh @ $3.50. Price mainly from $3.50 to $5.00. The MHK is not those hand tore type. More of machine cut.
Soup was tasty (hope I don't have lots of after effect wanting to drink lots of water)
😂
The ingredients have slice pork and minced pork, chinese cabbage and xiao bai cai kind, egg & ikan billis. Taste of the minced pork is towards the sweet than savoury.
I check the operating hour with the vendor, since it wasn't mentioned by anyone.
Mon to Fri - 11am to 7pm
Sat to Sun - 11am to 2pm+.
As the Hawker Centre has 2 sides.. Look for them at the side nearer to Blk 164.
Friendly stall owner !

Wonderfully chewy handmade noodles served with a perfectly runny egg every time. The mee hoon kueh is a little thick, but the you mian is just right. Get extra pork (+$1) for a richer soup. The friendly stall auntie will help you carry your bowl to a table during off-peak hours so that you don't have to pay the tray deposit!
Tried the mee hoon kway for the first time but I understand that it’s been around forever. Seems like they’ve been super consistent with their quality. Soup is tasty, meat well marinated, and most importantly, the mee hoon kway itself is thick and chewy. Will come again! Keep it up guys ☝️
The stall makes their own ingredients on site. This is evident in the floury tables and availability of a large flour cutting machine. If you love thick noodles, you definitely would love it! Personally I really like their sweet and flavourful soup. I like the springy and chewy minced meat as well, which was really well marinated. And their chilli... SHIOK LA!
Highly recommend if you are looking for comfort food!
