No. 25 Minced Meat Noodle. This place is absolutely amazing, they're new, but know how to prepare a flavorful dish. The soup simmers for at least 6 hours creating a rich, velvety experience that will keep me coming back every time I'm in Singapore. If you're not sure where to eat in the Bukit Merah area, come here. 161 Bukit Merah Unit 4.

Came to this hawker centre at around 1.30pm on a Monday. Surprisingly there’s still ample parking and the hawker centre isn’t crowded. Seeing a queue, I joined it to buy a bowl of noodles 幼面at $4. There was quite a big portion of noodles and generous amount of ingredients (minced pork and 2 slices of pork). I would like it more if the lady at the stall was more generous with the fried ikan bilis. I noticed that there are quite a number of food stalls selling fishball noodles but only one or two have queues. I also had a cup of coffee at $1.10. I think this will be the normal price for most food centres until the GST is raised.

Located in the centre of Bukit Merah Central is the Bukit Merah Central Hawker Centre. This daytime Hawker Centre, meaning that majority of the stalls do not operate past 6pm, is largely dependent on the nearby office workers. There are a few good stalls here to visit and enjoy. A chance visit to Bukit Merah Central Hawker Centre stumbled on to Soon Huat Lor Mee, specialising in Lor Mee and Laksa. That first visit 4 years ago helped to finally find a worthy successor of a Lor Mee. The yummy broth and the crispies used was almost the same recipe as the former Bukit Purmei Lor Mee. A monthly visit was made since to satisfy that Lor Mee craving. Sadly, the standards here have been fluctuating the past 2 months. It is unknown what is causing the fluctuating standards but this had made the meal here not as great as before. Fong Sheng Fried Kway Teow is one of two hugely popular Fried Kway Teow stalls here. Helmed by a husband and wife team in their 60s, the dish here has excellent Wok Hei and is of the wet variety. With a healthy amount of lap cheong and fish cakes, it creates a satisfying lunch to give one the energy to power through the rest of the work day. Shun Xing is a Dough Fritters speciality stall serving up 9 different types of Dough Fritters. Their location next to the access way leading to the lift that heads up to Polyclinic gives them a prime spot. Their highly affordable prices, and the fact that the offerings are vegetarian, makes them attractive and they sell out often shortly after lunch. Day Night Fried Kway Teow is the other hugely popular stall that specialises in the dry variety of the Fried Kway Teow. The dish here has tons of pork lard added to increase the crunch and flavour level. A slice of lime is added to create some zest in the dish and this enhances the Wok Hei of the dish to make it heavenly The only sugar cane drink stall at the Hawker Centre, Sea Lai Hong. The sugarcane juice here is of optimum sweetness and not too sweet. The refreshing juice from this stall, together with other offerings like Hawthorne Drink, Honey Lemon Drink and canned drinks helps to give visitors a place to get themselves hydrated or refreshed after a meal. A good place to visit for a quick lunch or afternoon tea if one is in the Bukit Merah Central area.

The reopening of Singapore is providing a boost to business after several WFH mandates resulted in closures of some stalls that rely on the office crowd lunch from Connection One. While there is a variety of stalls, there is none that is a destination by itself. There are better options at Redhill Market or Bukit Merah View, both within a 5-minute walk.

Excellent old school hawker centre with a good mix of old and new generation hawkers. Crowded during lunch time and most stalls are closed by 5-6pm due to the stalls mainly serving lunch crowd from nearby areas. Price is very reasonable and most food prices start at $3.50.
