Love their bamboo charcoal tofu and orh nee! The yam paste dessert comes with pumpkin, water chestnuts and ginkgo nut with the right balance of flavor and right amount of sweetness. The bee hoon also have good wok hei. Other dishes are also good. A very satisfying meal
Special tks to Chef Chai for the yummilicious food & desserts. We had a great time with sumptuous food & had sweet endings - orh nee 2 ways (original & fried) & sesame rice cake. Great service staff and special thanks to Esther & team
Per other reviewers… it is indeed not an authentic Teochew restaurant. However, dishes were well made. We loved every dish that they served! It's a small restaurant, housed among a row of 2-storey shop houses along McPherson Road. Be prepared for noisy environment. There is a VIP room though, not sure what is the minimum spend to use one. Parking could be a problem on peak hours (weekends).
Overall a good restaurant for small group gathering. Just be open minded on the "Teochew-ness" of the dishes. Enjoy!
Pretty authentic Teochew dishes. Rating would be more of 3.5 to 4. These came in a set (with one of the dishes changed). Service staff gave really good services. Very filling for 5-6 people and value for money. Heard the owner is a mediacorp actor.
Love the Teochew dishes here. Very authentic and delicious (their dishes are not oily at all even if it’s deep fried). Very attentive, helpful and cheerful staffs. Highly recommended to give this restaurant a try.
Fantastic teochew-styled dishes! I thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. The signature braised goose was tender and the gravy was fragrant and well-balanced.
MUST MUST orderthe yam paste (orh-ni)!! They also serve the traditional "pig's jelly" which was decent as well.
The horfun with radish was well fried - it had the wok-hei- and the pickles gave it as savoury-sweet flavour!!!
Very friendly service staff too!
Mouth-watering, authentic Teochew cuisine is my short answer.
😋😋😋
Thought that the bamboo charcoal tofu was the star dish of the evening. It was unusually tasty, flavourful, without being overpowering with a suitable smattering of mushrooms and bamboo pith.

The pig trotters were definitely cooked to perfection - the skin was crisp, and you could taste its unique seasoning going right through to the flesh.

"Orh-ni" or yam paste is a very typical Teochew dessert and is usually used as a yardstick to measure the authenticity of any Teochew cuisine. I must say that this was done very well - not too sweet, and there was a balance of tastes between the yam and pumpkin paste. Topping it off with a generous sprinkling of gingko nuts really did it for me!
🍠
Yam sticks coated with sugar and spice is another typical Teochew dish. Apart from the fact that it was a little dry, the yam itself was fragrant and fluffy.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
We thoroughly enjoyed dinner as a family and will be back to try their other dishes.
💯
Just as a sidenote, the dishes were served at a rather leisurely pace so make sure you're not in a rush!

Went with low expectations after reading all these bad reviews, but we really enjoyed the food, especially the braised duck, charcoal bamboo tofu, eight treasures veggies, orh nee, and sesame rice cakes... basically almost everything except the pork jellies (personally prefer chin lee's version). Service was alright - some of the staff seem rather inexperienced. Best to make reservations if you're heading there on a weekend - the restaurant is not very big.
