We headed for the restaurant next door but they are closed for lunch from 2pm so we walked into this restaurant for lunch and what a pleasant surprise. There were five office girls having lunch and delicious smells were wafting our direction so we took the lead and said we will have what they are enjoying. Kim the manager and server kindly recommended the promotion with choice of chicken or belly pork and the set lunch was ten dollars a head only. That was fine we said. There was so much we did not need to order more side dishes. We started with fragrant porridge which went very well with the side pickles, kimchi, bean sprouts, spicy radish and spicy seaweed with thinly sliced cucumber. All good and you can have seconds of everything. Then Kim served a hot seaweed soup with delicious fishy flavours at a guess anchovies. Main course was the barbecue of belly pork with cabbage in a spicy sauce gently simmered until very tasty. Kim was right about not having to order side dishes as there was so much we ate to our hearts content. Best part was the bill eleven dollars a head including unlimited chilled rice tea. We tipped Kim. Go enjoy but remember promotion ends sep 30.

Same cook evidence from taste and style but portion is a now a lot larger (ref updated pic) it's definitely a bigger effort to improve hence the 4*. Perhaps true to its own style here is a mix of beef and double (triple) boiled shells into jjampong - it is definitely unique than the usual Korean style. Not my cup of tea as I felt the base marination was a tad overcooked. The sundubu jigae is also offered on a bigger portion on the similar style cooking. Interesting soup base used. Definitely worth a visit if you're around the block for a Korean dish.

Really like how the restaurant serves pretty good quality korean fried chicken at a very reasonable price point. They also do Korean BBQ if anyone is interested in that at the side. Location is convenient near Tiong Bahru MRT, and there are a number of other good bars and restaurants around the area too if you find out that their menu is not meeting your expectations.
