Review Pek Kio Food Centre - Singapore

A decent wet market with various items but not all stalls are opened, limited variety. Food centre had lots of variety of dishes as well. Most of the hawkers were elderly and happy to see younger generations of hawkers as well. I believe some of the elderly hawkers have been running their businesses for many years. Refreshing to see handmade carrot cake that was made from scratch as well. 40% of the stores had the CDC vouchers and I believe this is so, because of the usage of the app. Hope something can be done to help the elderly store owners run their businesses as well. There are other shops and stores just beside the Pek Kio Market & Food Centre.Overall, a good place to shop.

28 Jan 2022: Pek Kio Food Centre...spacious, well ventilated and with reasonable number of local favourites at affordable prices. Heng Leong Carrot Cake…$2 for a plate of carrot cake and for this price, it is really amazing. Generous portion, soft with crispy edges and the dark version is a little on the sweet side for me. Sin Kee Nasi Lemak (economical set at $2.70) is value for money…rice is pretty fragrant, crispy wing and with a nice tangy sambal.

Great food at this Pek Kio Market. Got Michelin Chee Chong Fun, prawn noodle, roast duck and braised duck are worth trying. Expect to queue for at least 30min during peak hours.

A hawker center nested in the old estate. After renovation, it's much cleaner and brighter. The carrot cake cost $2 and it's quite nice especially the black version from heong leong. The good spice white version also not bad. Tried the Cambridge Rd roasted duck and pork, both are not bad and cost $7 which comes with a soup and cabbage. The famous CCF is also not bad and the char siew one costs $4. This hawker center food is cheap and the food is not bad. Weekday is not crowded. Walking from KKH will take 7min and 5min from the tennis court. Just outside the hawker center is a bus stop where you can take 131 opposite it to little India MRT station.

Love the variety of food, esp those with long queue - prawn noodle, chee cheong fun, carrot cake, etc. @Live2nJOY

I had first visit this morning. Nothing goes wrong. Totally happy with the visit and will come back every week. Nice, friendly and open people (this is important for u to feel being a human in Singapore); a variety of choice for veggies and fruits with a nice price. Food i havent tried but look good. Some stores around the market to sell necessities are available. Easy to access. Not too crowded and line up (this is 10am Thursday) - hope the weekend is like this so that we can have meal here. So scared of aggressive aunties in big hawker with long line of customer - they easily are on fire if u cant get ur order fast. Welcome to Singapore loh

Your usual local hawker center delights like wanton noodles and fishball noodles, chicken rice and coffeestalls. Pretty clean and neat with tables well spaced out as compared to many other hawker centers.

An easy 7mins walk from Farrer Park MRT. If you are driving, there are parallel parking lots or you can use the public HDB carpark just opposite. Number of food stalls isn’t many but the options are perfect and all you need. Chee Cheong Fun is one of the most famous here - tried the prawn and char siew (can’t go wrong!). Carrot cake, chee kueh and pancakes also are must-haves. Good environment - clean and well-ventilated as well. Chicken rice, tong tau foo, fish soup and mee pok all famous too but I guess just not all in one sitting 😊 queue can get pretty long but wait time is okay. That’s why I’ll always be back too! Cheers!
