One of the only authentic Italian cuisines you can find in Singapore!
Good food with generous portions... all die-hard Italian cuisine fanatics should check it out! ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
Having being living in the Katong aera since the Late 1980th... I have known Al Forno from nearly its opening... and I still love coming there... food is great n staff always friendly... and... a good selection of wine...
This Italian restaurant is a very nice place to go for pizzas. Went there for a celebration with my family. The place is in a corner and not difficult to spot. Parking is a little difficult to find though but still worth the efforts.
Pizza was very nice as it cooked in the traditional wood fire oven. We ordered a lot of other food and a bottle of wine and price was ok. Not cheap but definitely not on the super high side. Taste is authentic and does give a feel like youโre in Italy. This restaurant is also one of the first to import ingredients from Italy. Will definitely come back to dine.
Overall: Great place with great food!
Price: $$$
Food: Very tasty Italian food. The carbonara is creamy and savoury. Best that I have tasted till date. The calamari rings was a little underwhelming as it was not as crispy and savoury as I expected. The sauce paired was not very ideal.
The Chardonnay was smooth and light. Great to go with seafood
Ambience: family setting, friendly and happy atmosphere.
One of the best places to go for Italian food in Singapore, have been coming here for over 15 years. First time dining in since Covid, but feels like nothingโs changed at all. Food is still delicious and service is great as always!
I had my anniversary dinner here recently, the ambience is certainly much better in person than in pictures! The service staff was friendly and had good reccomendations for us (the pizza and lasagna in the pictures). As delicious as it is, be sure not to fill up on the starter and complimentary bread or there'll be difficulties finishing your mains. Would love to come here again!
The service is great and food is amazing! The calamari, seafood soup, truffle pasta, burrata ham pizza are authentic and the steak just reminded me of Europe! Highly recommended.
Only thing is parking can be challenging around the area.
Never been to Italy, but when I sink my teeth into these pasta dishes, it just screams AUTHENTIC. Had such an amazing meal the first time, we had to be back for a second time (eating the same two pasta dishes again HAHA)!
When they say crab meat, they really pack in chunks of crab meat in the pasta. Sweet and fresh, I'm not a fan of tomato-based pasta dishes but this is one I'd eat every single day. Cream-based raviolis were fantastic as well, super creamy and yummy.
Will definitely be back again, mouth watering as I'm typing in this review haha!
