Came here for an early dinner on Saturday evening because I've heard so much about Ah Bong's even before it relocated to Tan Quee Lan St. Finally got my chance today and I am compelled to pen my thoughts before my food is digested. My friend and I got the mushroom risotto and the pesto pasta (with the homemade pasta option that was highly recommended by Chris, the owner). We also ordered crabcakes to share as part of their weekend promo (an appetiser and a main gets you a free drink). Mains came shortly after and they were delicious :) the risotto was cooked just right, and there were chunky mushroom slices with enoki as well - yummy comfort food. Pesto pasta was good too, if not better. It was flavourful and came topped with my favourite pine nuts and a bite that can only be attributed to the fresh homemade pasta (for that option you'll have to top-up a couple more dollars, but I say do it!) Crabcakes were slightly pricey cos they were smaller than I expected, but you bite into real crab, no fillers or such. Also there's no GST or service charge so yay to that! In short, hearty flavours with quality ingredients at prices you'd get at sub-par franchises anyway. Now the second bit I have to rave about is the awesome service. Chris and another staff made it a point to check on every customer, with a warm, genuine smile and a "how's everything? How's the food?". And when the lady staff left for the day, she came by our table asking if we wanted tea or more drinks and told us we were welcome to stay and study (by this time we had already sat there for 2h). Chris too came by a couple of times to make friendly conversation, asked what we were studying etc. When he closed up for the day (10.30pm? We'd sat there for 4h now) he let us know he had to turn the lights off and asked again if we needed anything else (we were seated outdoors). And just before he left, he gave us a drink each :) this gesture seriously made my week and Ah Bong's has just earned a loyal customer. Thanks Chris and everyone else at Ah Bong's for providing real food and real service.

Ordered carbonara today, one of them came and asked me how was the pasta, I replied that it was nice just slightly salty for my preference. And the next minute, the chef came and ask me if I want a new plate, which i gladly decline as the pasta was already very tasty. I was very surprised by the service. Some places that price their pasta at >$20 per plate, or those cafe, they do not have such great service. I once had a very raw pasta from some well known cafe, I returned the pasta and no apologies from them. Ah Bong's Italian may be in coffee shop, but the service is definitely restaurant standard. Will return again to try other dishes!

Came to this place to hang out this time round. I've been here on many an occasion and will always come back just for the ambience. We tried the pulled pork burger, salmon and spinach quiche and a flan based dessert. For drinks we had matcha green latte and long black. The pulled pork burger tasted a bit off, honestly, with the spices and all. Pork was too dry and it just didn't sit right with me. Salmon quiche was good though. The flan, a bit too sweet. What I really like about this place, is that the staff take their time to attend to each person, and they don't chase you away even when there's a queue. I guess that makes the customers comfortable and feel welcome. See you guys soon!

Cozy cafe in Tiong Bahru. Scrumptious bakery delicacies available to try. Enjoyed Almond Croissant and apple pie along with white tea. Definitely in my list for go to place for coffee and chill! They do have several other outlets in Singapore.

After trying out the one at Holland V, we decided to give this another go since we were looking for a place to have a cup of drink before heading for an appointment. ☕️ mocha was okay, I would probably go with this over the chocolate. But flat white still is better overall 🥐 the pain au chocolate wasn’t worth the value of money, I had better ones elsewhere at $3 a piece 🍮 the lime tart was decent, not too sour and brings about a refreshing note to the palette Overall a decent place to hang out and chill if you are in the area

Calls for long queue for a reason! Have always heard about tiong bahru bakery but never got to try. Finally managed to come here on a weekday and it was a great place to chill and rest! Staff were very friendly and didnt chase us out even though we spent about 1-2hrs there. Pastries were sooo good although on a pricey side. But you pay for the good quality ingredients. Coffee was really good too! Will definitely be back soon.

Cozy location bustling with guests, both dining in or just grabbing their favorite pastry for the road. There are both indoor and outdoor seatings, and staff are attentive and friendly. Loving the vibe with an old school feel, occupying a corner spot in an old building within a much loved neighborhood. They have another smaller shop front off Tiong Bahru Rd.

Wait staff was friendly and nice but due to the high volume of customers, we had to be seated in a spare room where it was a bit darker than the main dining area. The food was generally delicious and fresh. I love the mushroom croissant, the portion was just nice. I enjoyed using their peppermint hand wash too.

This beautiful little corner in Singapore has a fantastic little bakery. The service was exceptional, The bread was absolutely delicious. They have a wide variety of sourdough and baguettes, as well as other sandwiches and delectable morsels. The ambience is at the same time relaxing I'm relaxing and upbeat. I definitely recommend this place.
