Enjoyed seasonal Kisu tendon including shrimp and spring herb tempura with highball.
A great authentic family restaurant nestled within the Japanese Association. Maybe it’s the Japanese families dining around you, but it feels exactly like Japan in this place. Although the food isn’t the best, there is a warm homely flavour to the dishes. Had the seasonal special Hamburg rice with demi-glace sauce and was pleasantly surprised by the huge portion, with the beef being tender and not too gamey. Special shout-out for the salmon head which also comes in a generous portion for a very reasonable price!
Do take note that only members may gain entry or bring guests to dine at the restaurants within the Japanese Association.
We adjourned here for desserts and coffee after lunch at Akane. The staff here are friendly and helpful.
If possible, request for the private room at the end if you are a large group. There is a $10 surcharge but this can be waived.
There are special offers which include free flow beverages for $3 each if you order a mains or dessert. It was well worth it, as we could try their cold brew coffee, cappuccino, mango juice and teas etc.
We enjoyed desserts like matcha ice cream, coffee with vanilla ice cream, mochi and cheesecake cup.
