Short queue when’s topped by on Sunday morning, full of flavor, I ordered black version, loved it, but honestly I don’t know the difference between this carrot cake and other stalls. Worth trying!

The serving portion is good, but there is not much taste and aroma from their carrot cake.

Used to be my fav fried carrot cake around this area as I like carrot cake with extra dark sauce. . Location: Fu Ming Cooked Food, 85 Redhill Ln, #01-49, Singapore 150085

Carrot Cake / Chye Tow Kueh (SGD $3) @ Fu Ming Cooked Food. . Specialist in the black version, this stall is easily spotted with their old-school Mickey Mouse signage. . Hawker couple Goh Chye Oo and Lim Chin Hong makes their carrot cake from scratch, the effort taking about 7 or 8 hours, the fresh daikon radish shredded, seasoned, and kneaded over 100 times to achieve a soft, bouncy texture. . Frying with a generous blanket of eggs and double lacings of sweet dark soy sauce, each bite is a greasy smoky burst of sweet savoury salty eggy flavour, with hints of crispy bits. . Their rendition is slightly more oily than elsewhere, but has its fans.

Best Singaporean carrot cake I’ve had. Kueh fried extra long before adding eggs

Very good carrot cake. Kway is soft and well fried through. Sauce is sweet and slightly charred. Only wish there's a bit more egg for 4 bucks. But delicious.

#01-49 Fu Ming Cooked Food 福明熟食 Fu Ming Cooked Food, a recipient of the Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore Award, specialises in Fried Carrot Cake and sells Rice Dumplings too. A misnomer actually as Fried Carrot Cakes are actually made from Steamed Radish Cakes and a translation error, due to the Chinese Name for both Radish (蘿蔔) and Carrot (紅蘿蔔) having the same name except for an additional character (紅) for Carrot, that stuck through the ages have remained. Making their own Steamed Radish Cake thus allowing better quality control over the ingredients, the Fried Carrot Cake here is made only on order. Searching for this stall is easy as it faces the open square across from the Wet Market section and it has Mickey Mouse pictures on its signboard. General Verdict: Fried with a generous dose of eggs, the Fried Carrot Cake here is eggcellenty yummy and definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Opening Hours: Daily 5pm to 11pm (Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays) Queue Situation: About 10 mins to 15 mins Price: SG$3/4/5 (Small/Medium/Large) Payment Mode: Cash only Is this worth a try? Yes.
