Curry fish head set lunch meal for 4 today. Extremely yummy. Sri Veera's Curry Restaurant at 1 Hindoo Lane. 2 fish heads in claypot, 4 meat dishes, free flow 3 veg and rice served on banana leaf. Cost $30 nett. The service staff were very attentive and excellent.
I especially loved the teh tarek which tasted extra special than other normal teh tarek I've tried elsewhere. It seemed to have an extra lemak kick and creamy tasting!
Their dum bryani and other dishes seems to be very good and popular too as I saw a lot of the other patrons ordering and devouring them most gleefully.
Owner, T Nagarajan, who is the grandson of M Vererasamy, the pioneer of fish head curry and masala chicken in Singapore, has carried on the family tradition. We were the only Chinese patrons in the place at lunchtime. As the whole place was packed full of local and foreign Indian diners as well, and with so many Indian restaurants surrounding it, authenticity was assured and it just had to surely be good. Highly recommended.
Groupon offer for 2 ($15 for 1 fish head) or 4 pax ($30 for 2 fish heads) still available. Google Veera's curry for Groupon URL.

I like Meen kozhambhu Saapadu and I found one of the best restaurant to serve that. Fish fry and prawn masala were excellent. Staffs were attentive and cooperative. Kudos keep it up like to visit often.
Ordered mutton masala, tandoori fish with saffron rice. Compliment with cucumber, cabbage and curry potato also chicken and curry sause. Servced on a curry leaf. Total cost $12. Colorfully display like a palette, and the remain show how good the dish is. Will be back for this.
Btw, I'm a Chinese asian hasn't been to India so not much of the comparison. Oops.
South Indian style both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The the quality of the food is very good. The dining hall is small and looks not so clean. Toilet is in pathetic condition. This is the reason I gave 4 star. They don't give any priority for maintaining the toilet.
Small cozy + friendly restaurant, wasn't crowded when I visited @ 6pm on a weekday but the crowd starting building @ 7pm. Had masala chicken & curry fish head with banana leaf. Masala chicken portion was rather small, and I was unlucky to have a plate mostly filled with chicken bones.. The curry fish head was pretty spicy, packed with brinjal and herbs/spices.. serving was exceptionally generous, good for 3 pax. There r ample parking space nearby (for cars & motorcycles).
Food was very tasty, biryani , chapati and other some items , recommended πππππππ
Awesome traditional Indian food! Crammed with local people, that's always a sign for good food. Served on a banana leaf with many different choices. Price is okay for such a nice experience! (7-10S$ pP)
A cheap and best place to have South Indian food...
