Experienced Sunday Brunch @ 15 Stamford and it was fantastic. It was a 6 course semi buffet, some of the items like seafood a single serving while others like small bites and dessert on unlimited servings. That said, it was really filling but quality of all the food was pretty top notch. Loved the seafood platter especially, every single item was very fresh.
Service was superb and the ambience is really classy and inviting. Loved the bar area too, they do have a list of very charming cocktails to choose from. A must try gastronomy experience.
Had lunch here. Booked for 11.45am. Arrive a few minutes late. But they told us the restaurant’s only open from 12pm. I don’t understand why they allowed reservations at 11.45am then. They will sit you at the bar area, without offering any water while waiting. At 12pm, some staff came out to escort us to our table. As she was doing that, another colleague called out to her, and she left us standing there, wondering if we will be seated. Oh she did that without saying a word. I find it quite hard to believe given that its a restaurant located in a high end hotel. Was expecting the service to be much better. The food quality however was a few notches higher than their service quality. Hence the 4 stars. I would say the ambience is there. It’s a nice looking restaurant.
Had the Sunday brunch at 15 Stamford using the 1-1 vouchers I purchased earlier during Covid period. I initially wanted to use it for Father’s Day but it wasn’t allowed. The brunch is from 12pm onwards and we arrived earlier and were seated at the bar area. A nice posh area for waiting, and we even had complimentary alcoholic fruit punch which was a nice touch.
I took the liberty to go around taking photos of the food while waiting for the brunch to start. One not so favorable point here is despite being the second to arrive, we were not seated in that order. I’m not sure what order they gave for people to be seated but I thought it would make sense to have people seated in the order they come, perhaps after like premium status regulars.
Nonetheless, we were seated in a very good and comfortable location which was the circular table beside the sushi counter. The ambience was great, and everything looked and felt posh which was deserving of a 5stars hotel.
In terms of presentation of the food, you could tell that there was effort in the way the items were stacked and put together. In terms of variety, it wasn’t the most comprehensive but I definitely appreciate the quality. There were the premium cut meat station where you have your ribs, wagyu beef, lamb, venison; pasta station, bread station, cooked food station and soup which was roasted cauliflower soup; sashimi station; cold cut and cheese station; sushi and finally dessert station.
What I found missing versus a typical buffet were the ‘Asian’ cooked food station but I appreciate that they left it out and gave us more quality ingredients. The sushi station could also have been presented better with better quality sushi like sushi rolls with mentaiko or maybe even unagi which would spell premium more than what was available. One thing that could be better was the service. Now, it’s by no means bad but for example not having saucer to put the soya sauce and wasabi was definitely something quite basic not to be missed out.
Taste wise, everything was pretty on point. The sashimi was definitely top notch fresh and desserts were delicious. I also particularly enjoyed the ribs at the meat station as well as the carbonara paste I had.
All in all, for 1-1 price it was definitely well worth. We stayed till almost 3pm which was their closing time, I did notice that they started clearing by around 230pm.
