Both the black and white carrot cakes are awesome. The black carrot cake is flavourful and has a good mix of the mushy bits with the bigger pieces while the white one is in large chunks! Kudos to him for being able to do both styles well in one pan!

Been eating here for years.. They serve legit awesome crispy pan-fried carrot cake everytime! Have I also mentioned the Chili? It has a nice tangy, spicy kick and complements the carrot cake really well! Have to queue for a while but it’s well worth the wait!

Industrious uncle who cooked a delicious plate of black carrot cake. Portions are $3/$4/$5. The $4 portion with chilli was just right for me. He makes the Chai Tow Kuay by himself on-site. I had a quick chat with him. He prefers that bloggers not do a review as he finds it hard to keep up with the current demand. Thumbs up for this!

Q is long even on a weekday morning. Good enough portion for a small plate. Sweet and spicy enough for the black carrot cake. Will try the white one if I am back here again.

The black carrot cake is pretty awesome! It is fried to perfection, with some crispy bits and the slices itself were tender inside. The smoky flavour is also pretty strong which is what I like. A must try if you are in the area!

The white carrot cake was flavourful and full of eggs and caipo. The smallest plate ($2.50) came in four large chunks. They were soft but yet sufficiently firm to be picked up by chopsticks. Stall was clean and seller was hygienic. They no longer sell a mixture of black and white carrot cakes. Also, it would be perfect if they provide proper chopsticks (instead of disposable ones) and accept e-payment.

Saw a queue and hence follow to queue. Must say it’s own made carrot cake is tasty! Tried both Black and White version at S$2.50 per plate.

Best in the world carrot cake. Special order: black and white. Black carrot cake is not overly sweet nor salty, with a light savoury garlic flavour, whereas the white version is browned and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. If u asked for a spicy plate, be prepared to be wowed with the well balanced flavour that is definitely worth the 20 minute waiting time.
