No idea what the other reviews are saying. I felt the food was of the highest quality, with the freshest uni I've ever had in Singapore. Not a hint of the fishy smell u get from inferior uni. Chef was friendly and joked with us throughout the service. My drink was constantly being refilled through the meal too! Not sure why anyone would say they're unfriendly, or only talked to regulars. Like.. Its my first time there! Obviously u gotta sit in front of the chef for him to talk to u. Can't have him shouting out to the other side right? Overall, a great experience, no, a wonderful delightful culinary journey as we experience all the wonders the ocean has to offer. Oh ya.. This was the $180 menu.

Very fresh and good quality Omakase sushi meal. Had the uni option and was very happy and satisfied with the quantity. Good luck with getting a reservation though. Very limited seating but worth it to keep securing an experience there. As close as you can to eating in Japan for now.

Amazing Omakase experience! Every sushi was so fresh and so delicious. Even the hand roll that looked so simple was so interesting once you put it in your mouth. You get such a bang for your buck (and your mouth) when you eat here. No wonder I needed to make a reservation months in advance. Planning my next visit already!

A very satisfying omakasa sushi meal with every piece delicately executed. My fav are the truffled onsen egg with Ikura, otoro with shoyu foam, crab meat with Ikura tamaki, and the uni rice bowl. This happy birthday girl got an extra piece of chef’s special maki, too! 🥰 Thank you! It’s definitely worth the wait as you might have to make reservation way ahead. Very reasonably priced too considering it’s a 18-course set which comprises with freshness and good quality. Highly recommended.

We had the omakase and loved every piece they placed in front of us. Their otoro with shoyu foam and uni rice bowl were the absolute stars. Even those of us who weren’t fans of spring onions liked the dishes which incorporated spring onions. Their service is definitely more straightforward, no frills, which is great when you’re looking to chat with your friends.

Had the uni omakase set at 98$. Interesting types of sashimi. Booking is so easy now via inline app. But gotta camp at the site one month in advance becus slots run out fast.

Really affordable omakase restaurant but you must book early to get a reservation. The dishes started out simple but towards the end, they get more incentive and highlight the chef’s skill more. I really enjoyed the soy soaked chutoro, as well as the Kani roll. Was a good time!

If you do not take raw, here's the place for you to kick start!It's rather amazing that a 9 seater interior can be cosy and warm. Felt welcome by the neat and tidy settings of the restaurant. Ordered the $98 nett Omakase set and you will be surprise by how the freshness of the seafood can tingle sweetness to your taste buds. (There's Uni, yes those savoury chunks tt melts in your mouth!), not forgetting nice ice cold beer and sake to go along with. Chef is very meticulous and takes pride in making sure you are satisfied with what is served. Definitely an awesome experience and worth every cent of your money. Will come back for more. Kudos �

Good value and loved everything the chef created. Had the $98 omakase set and it was such a great experience, my partner and I did not hesitate to make a booking for our next visit! Am not a fan of raw squid and when the chef whipped up a raw squid sushi....I was anticipating the usual unpleasant aftertaste and chewy texture that comes with most raw squid. The raw squid sushi at ryo was surprisingly sweet, crunchy and paired so well with black salt. Am a big fan of their rice....and the sweet creamy uni...and crunchy ikura. Will recommend to everyone!�

**This is my review/opinion about the restaurant, not for arguments between people. Remember others have the rights to their opinions, so are you, so am I, save your time for better things** Can you think of a time when someone you don't know just judge by their stares, their conversation or worse treated you like as if you're less than every one else? That was what we both felt when we stepped into this place. 2 weeks before we went to the restaurant. I went down personally to reserve cause I heard of their strange booking ways online. Wasn’t treated well and felt unwelcome. That’s fine if that is a unify equal treatment. What I get from this place was this stricted face man asking me to wait outside, another man who came with an unhappy face came and do our reservation. When we arrived. What puzzles me is they were actually greeted selected or frequent customers with a great smile. As first time customers we were ignored and stared at fiercely especially from the chef at the left side of the counter, when I went to the toilet and came back, he stared at me as if I murdered his cat, he must be thinking "how dare you to step into to my restaurant?!”. Then the chef that served us was on the right side of the counter, ignored us, while I was trying to chat casually. Then I asked, “are you chef Roy?” He replied “I never heard of him” while that was listed on their website. But the worst part is, he chatted with joy with the customer on our right. Cause one of the men been there before and he got an extra portion of the truffle egg and special triple portion of the rice bowl. On the menu, it says, "I provide atrocious service, hence no service charge'. No service charge doesn’t mean it has to be rude or giving nasty stares at customers. My colleague #1 got told off just because she said the wrong fish name on her private conversation with her friend, she had a bitter taste in her mouth and do not to go back there again, plus we both were thirsty until the next day due to the high salt or possibly msg content of the seafood rice, on top of the "bitter taste". Colleague #2 was treated normally to well, she is the beautiful looking one. I asked myself, "Only good looking ones get treated better?" after I heard both of their experiences. Good food only means something when it comes with a good energy, good food tastes just as bad when it serves with bad energy. As Maya Angelou quoted “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” If you can remember the time you were treated badly just because who you are, ask yourself if this feeling is worth it. Food is shadowed by their attitude of treating us as the 2nd class citizen in our face. Nor I will go back or recommend my friends, there are plenty good places that welcome customers. I hope you would NOT step in this place to experience what I have experienced, go to a place, I won't mention the name, serving omakase (but 2-month waiting list), 2 doors from Tonkatsu king, the food there tastes very delicious, I went multiple times, their Unagi melts in your mouth, plus you would get treated like how you will be treated in any other regular restaurants in Singapore, regular service, no hatred, no judgement and no nasty stares. 'Regular' treatment is all I'm asking for. PS: Anyone wants to say "this is how Japanese Chefs behave", #1 they are not Japanese, #2 I had never encountered anything like this from a Japanese Chef on my trips to Japan, they are extremely friendly, worst case scenario: average. NEVER rude or nasty.

First time being at the restaurant. I would say the fish fresh. Cant compare with any other places ive eaten in terms of value and freshness. I ate the $98 omakase which includes the uni. Gosh, the uni is sweet and buttery. Great place.! Recommend to try! Going again 4 days latet for second round! Good job chef roy. Please do check the timing on seatings. Call up the restaurant to clarify! The chef wont bite you! Reservations is recommended as walk in may cause disappointment as this restaurant only have 7 seats. Have fun sushi-ing

Had the pleasure of being brought down to dine in Roy's restaurant a few weeks back as a surprise treat. We were promptly seated and each course was delicious to the very last bite. The rice and mouthfeel of each course impressed me greatly. Roy was informative about his preparations, jovial and a lovely fun host. This will definitely not be my last time in Roy's lovely omakase restaurant! Ill be back real soon, thanks Roy!

Owner Roy is becoming very complacent. Been wanting to get a reservation on numerous occasions and . He was very sarcastic and arrogant on the phone. He always questions which set I am going for and when he hears that I am choosing the cheapest option (I did that on purpose), he always tells me that I am on the wait list. Have heard that food is good for the price he charges but with his attitude and service, there are tons of other places in SG i can go to in this day and age. Roy, if you are reading this, do remember that you are in f&b. Do not forget, that customers not only enjoy good food but service is very important. In this aspect, I rate you very poorly even before trying your food because I sense that you have become proud and forgot your beginnings. Just as with the case of Anton Casey, we, the masses are powerful and you should realise that you have loads to lose if we stop patronising your business. What you Should lose, is that attitude of yours.

Great food and good value for money. It was our first visit to the restaurant and the service was acceptable and not atrocious as feedback by some. The chef made small talk and the tea and ginger were topped up without us asking. My friend even had extra ingredients because I said it was her birthday.

First visit to the restaurant. 2 Chefs will serve 9 persons only per session. All sushi are freshly craft by the Chef and deliver to you. It is a memorable experience.
