Hidden gem! We tried the Zi Char~
Could easily find seats on a Sunday night, perhaps cos most orders were to dabao.
Price very very reasonable, portions just right too. For 2 people, we ordered 3 small dishes - left feeling very full but satisfied:)
Very personable and chatty senior couple with many old customers. Went there at noon, was told no more bak kut teh, so ordered pig trotter instead. After a while they managed to scoop one last bowl of bak kut teh for me... super touched! Soup was really thick and tasty. Glad that I got to try, for this was the last time before starting pescatarian diet.
Really good Zi char store in a very atas area... Almost all the items in the menus are goods... Prawn paste chicken wings, hotplate tofu, sweet n sour fish, even the green vegetables is so fresh... N hotplate tofu is not salty at all, with just nice the sauce, u can even eat it without the rice ... To top it all up, those aunties and uncles are all so very very friendly n nice... Try it try it try it... Highly recommended...
