As a restaurateur myself. My Friend recommended this place. I will say great Japanese Omekase at affordable price hidden in the lanes behind Boat Quay. Quality fresh food, serious Japanese Chef offering great service, the place to close deals & business. Well managed for a new establishment. Check out clean toilets and floors. I am particular on this but great job. Keep it up and stay determined. Will be back soon. Check my check-in for fotos.
Lovely place with excellent quality fresh ingredients. The freshness of the seafood together with the well balance flavoured and texture of the sushi rice were superb. The brown sauce that was occasionally drapped ontop of the raw seafood truly enhanced the taste and flavour of the sushi.
Fast efficient service by the crew. And Chef Koji-san does craft and mould an excellent piece of sushi.
As good as dining in Japan esp cant travel during this pandemic period. A marvelous dining experience to enjoy the seasonal items and the skills of the chef. And they have a good selection of sake to pair with the food. Excellent !
We came here for dinner recently, wanting a bit of a special night out, and we tried the premium omakase along with a few rounds of different types of sake. The restaurant is small, so you’ll definitely need to make a reservation, and note that for dinner (not sure about lunch), a deposit is required at the time of booking. The flip side of being in a cozy place is that you get a lot attention and personal service. Chef Koike, his two assistants, and the staff were all very kind and friendly. Everything just went smoothly. It was a nice experience. The courses we had were all very high quality and represented quite a wide range of tastes and textures. One that stood out for me was the saba. It was prepared very simply but really good. I lived in Japan for years and have eaten a lot of saba, but this was probably the best I’ve ever had. Overall, the meal was relaxed and not rushed. There aren’t multiple seatings so you don’t need to worry about time. They also ask you up front about any dietary restrictions. This is real omakase, not a set menu. By the time we finished the meal, we were both quite full and thoroughly satisfied and happy. It’s not an inexpensive place to dine, but for the right occasion, it is a very nice one and I recommend it. We would definitely go back.
A Japanese foodie friend recommended this place. It tucked behind a very unnoticeable door. The sashimi omakasan is creamy and fresh, surprisedly filling too! They went extra mild offering luxury japanese fruits for my birthday too. I will definitely go back in different season.
We had the omakase lunch experience at 168++. Chef Koike served us fresh and sashimi that is in season. The baffun uni are from rishiri Island and are very sweet :) The restaurant looked posh, private and decor reminded me of Japan. Kudos to their hinoki scented towel. I would have given it a 6 star rating!
Awesome experience with delicious food and great service! We went for the standard Omakase at $168++ for lunch. The sushi was super fresh, well seasoned and tender. Nobita was a great chef and took notes of our dietary restrictions very carefully. Totally love the 2-hour experience!
amazing food and friendly chef. will come back definitely
