Ever since the days that I have been eating here, I have never been disappointed. Overall good quality has maintained, various types of curry all has its uniqueness and not super spicy. Makes me want to eat tons of rice to go with the various delicious curry (even though my current diet is cutting down on carbs). Only thing is their beef rendang is slightly on the dry side so would prefer if can be more tender and soft. Overall, would definitely recommend for curry lovers.
An authentic Nasi Padang restaurant in the central area.
The curries are rich in flavours.
Price is on the high range but given the location, we suppose it can’t be too cheap thou.
Worth a try!
It had been a few years since I last ate here - the very first time I did was at the old Rendevous Hotel in the Rochor area - and I was looking forward to lunch here with my brother-in-law.
The food did not disappoint, and the taste was almost as remembered. The begedils were large and full of flavour, while the sotong was fresh and cooked perfectly. Overcooked squid can be rubbery, but this dish was really good. The brinjal was also tasty, and came with chilli on the side.
The chicken curry was good, though the chicken pieces were smaller than expected. The beef rendang was, surprisingly, our least favourite, as the pieces were hard and the rempah not too tasty. The cucumber salad went well with the various curries and rice.
Overall, the price was reasonable at $48, and service was efficient. Ordering is easy - you select the food and quantity you want at the counter in front and staff will bring the dishes to your table.
