Novena Peranakan is an absolute gem! My family has been frequenting this place for the past ~15 years and it still remains as our favourite Peranakan restaurant. Traditional, no-nonsense, delicious, quality food that is value for money. It’s a huge pity that the restaurant is currently being blocked by a construction facade so there’s fewer foot traffic… highly highly recommended to drop by and have your dose of Peranakan cuisine!

REALLY GOOD Peranakan food. We ordered the buah kulak (??) chicken, beef rendang and sambal prawn. All were very tasty and very flavourful. My family loved it. Best of all, great prices and great service :) The vibes were super authentic and the owner/uncle on the ground was friendly and helpful. I actually loved the interior, it was very homely/ traditionally and had alot interesting pieces from the wall lamps, wall clock etc. Highly recommend a visit!

Dishes taste like home-cooked and so delicious. The rice is definitely of good quality and at no charge! Dived straight into the food and forgot to take pictures... I think the prices are kept the same for years (haven't patronise for years). Restaurant is less busy, possibly due to the ongoing construction. I took my time to savour the food and had a nice chat with the owner after.

Great homely Peranakan food at very reasonable prices. As for service, owner/waiter uncle Jeffrey is a very direct person - some may find him unfriendly at first, but you'll find that he means no harm, once you get to know him.

My family has been coming here for some years, their food is always consistently outstanding and the price is always so reasonable even after all these years! Our absolute must-orders are the assam prawns and the ngoh hiang! The fried rice is always good too, $6 enough for two persons. Food always comes very very fast! Highly recommend!

Very traditional local eating place. Seats only about 50 pax at max. Best to make reservations if your party is 8 and above. Fried prawn and squid dishes, very flavourful and seafood fresh! Other dishes were of home cooked goodness. Prices reasonable and servings more than sufficient.
