Lovely people, even better food. Don and Selene serve a crisp moreish sea salt chicken with a fuss free yet balanced salad. Lamb was tender. Kids devoured the mushroom soup, I can't tell you how it was but the walnut garlic toast which needs a separate order is a must. To die for. Never mind the gelato spread - instant kid good behaviour guarantee, but the apple crumble is buttery, caramelised and tart in the right proportions. We go there for family dinners, birthday celebrations, bump into old friends. This cafe is everything it says it is. Go try!
Tucked away in a little pocket of an old estate - a complete gem! The ambience at the cafe was perfect, peaceful and quiet, decorated with so many fascinating items all around. The food was to die for. The staff were so accommodating to meet our request to customise our salmon spaghetti with sambal chilli and have the sauce changed to pesto sauce instead, which still tasted absolutely perfect. The lava cake with ice cream was simply mouth-watering and the taste was very much to our liking. Will definitely come back again! Kudos to the team for such a splendid experience!
Absolutely enjoyed our family dinner on Sunday night. Recommended by our son who is also a SAFRA member (5% discount). The cafe was fully booked and the staff and kitchen was quite stressed. We waited for a quite a while and used it to catch up amongst the 4 of us. The wait staff was friendly and kept us posted on where the status of our order was. The food and dessert was good. 5 stars
Full of nostalgia and the jazz just puts me completely at ease! I love that the menu gives you such a wide variety to choose from, way beyond the average restaurant! Even the drinks menu has such a wide varied spread! From coffee to tea and beer! The prices are also very reasonable and give me the impression that they are good value for money!
After week and a half came back with a group of friends this time. The food and drinks didn’t disappoint as usual. Only off one was the lamb which had a “hian” smell, quite a lot of fats although there were three huge racks. The servings are still above average for all the food and drinks so I would say still bang for the buck and an enjoyable experience overall.
Overall the food is pretty good, we ordered 3 mains for two of us. The chunky beef spaghetti was a little on the sweet side while the tom yum spaghetti was tasty but a little on the wet side perhaps can reduce a little of the sauce. The seared salmon was done perfectly, mashed potatoes is good as well. Lemon Lime Float and Root Beer Float 👍👍. The guy serving the customers have excellent service👌服务很棒. One advice for family with small children, please help to manage them from playing with the display or running around, it really is quite disturbing to customers who are there to enjoy their meals.
Don was our phenomenal server and beyond just being thoughtful and upfront, he is detailed and genuinely kind! He made our experience so worthwhile and definitely will be back! The food was good and deco+ambiance was amazing! Absolutely unique and highly recommend this quaint cute old school singapore cafe! We came for dinner and loved the pasta most! Service was by far impeccable ❤️ thank you and massive kudos to you and your lovely staff!
Good food with good vibes.
Lots of nostalgic items placed around the restaurant, most are for sale if you are keen. There are old toys, rotary phones, old clocks and vinyl discs for sale.
Food here is great too! Had the beef Bolognese, it is technically the beef goulash sauce with spaghetti. The beef is soft and tender.
Will return again!
The kind of place that older folks will appreciate.
The good was scrumptious. Beef Goulash was flavorful and texture of the beef was on point. However, the fried rice was rather hard. Felt uncooked. (Opt for other sides!)
Classic chicken chop is the Classic Boomer's favourite.
Tuna fillet sounds rather classy. But beware for those who dislike the strong fish flavour.
Service was great. The service crew actually came and check on the older folks if the taste was okay for them.
The cafe is located in SAFRA, next to the pool. Took a bit of exploration to eventually locate it after walking past the changing rooms. The interior of the cafe was filled with toys and “stuff” from the past, almost like a time capsule. Although I applaud the effort for curating and displaying all that “stuff”, it’s not exactly my cup of tea. The food was good. I had the seared sesame tuna and a latte. The tuna was delicious and paired well with the sauce that came with it, and the total came up to $28. Reasonable.
Unique local vintage ambience with displays that are amazingly dust-free. Option to have a pool view too. Food is yummy (we had a Chicken Chop & Beef Spaghetti for $9.90) and value for money. Service was wonderful, felt like we were in a 5-star hotel, we were served by Toby who was warm, friendly and super fast. Strongly recommend!
