I visited Saboten at 313 Somerset outlet on 16 March 2017 for dinner, overall the staff's attitude and their customer service is positive while their quality of food is fresh. I would like to compliment a few staff, one of them named Alan. 1. I was coughing badly while looking at the menu at the entrance. He suggested to offer me a glass of water. 2. He went extra mile to find ointment for burn as I accidentally scalded my thumb. 3. A senior female staff was also helpful by giving recommendation treatment to the scald and initiated to offer refill tea and cabbage. 4. Another female staff was very patient during clearing the table as I was having the last bit. 5. A young male staff was polite when he was asking permission to remove the sauces for top up. Do keep up the standard of service and food quality.

Today was the first time my best friend and I dined at Saboten at 313Somerset, but it definitely won't be the last time. We ordered a 'Mix and Match' set meal each, with mini tenderloin and cheese tenderloin. The meat was juicy and the cheese was savoury, oozing out with every bite. While fried food tends to be greasy and heavy, the tenderloin patties were delicious! I also loved the fluffy steamed rice and refreshing cold shredded cabbage which I drizzled with sesame sauce, as well as the complimentary warm green tea (free flow, no less! ). Kudos to the service staff on duty who were very attentive and took the initiative to refill our tea, and were friendly and approachable throughout.

Somehow portion felt smaller than before. Our pork loin pretty much tasteless. I remember their pork used to be in bigger portions and tastier. Service wise a perfect 10. We were well taken care of from the moment we stepped in until we left.

This katsu restaraurant deserves a solid 5 stars! Visited on 26 May 2022, Thursday night. 5 stars for the food freshness, quality, portion, and taste. Enjoyed the matcha icecream which was not too strong flavoured. Ordered the katsu set for 2 pax and the dish was skillfully displayed. Could not finish the food so we asked to takeaway to which the waitress gladly assisted and packeted the leftovers nicely, she even placed chopsticks and the sauces inside the plastic bag for us. 5 stars for the service. Price was reasonable, about $30 per pax. Would visit again.

"Stuff here is better than Japan!" exclaimed my friend. 😂 For the prices charged, the food and services are up to standard. Not too oily outside, juicy inside, no funky pork taste. 👍 Friendly waitresses kept topping up shredded cabbage. Recommended.

Our favorite katsu and still is. Love the Katsu here. Good quality ingredients covered with fine crumbs. Perfect it with a dip of Saboten Tonkatsu sauce. Not a veg person but I ate the most veg over here with their house-blend special salad dressing. Follow Review IKR on Instagram and Facebook

First time here after reading all the reviews as my friend said she wanted to eat Japanese deep fried thick pork. What was good? 1. Quick and attentive service 2. Clean table 3. Fast refill of cabbage as starters while u wait for the main dish to arrive 4. Nice sesame dressing for the cabbage 5. The deep fried not oily thick pork. 6. Ice cream though green is too milky for my liking. 7. The chawan mushi is just right.

This review is for Saboten, Orchard which is a pity that it's no longer open. The tonkatsu is one of the best in Singapore. Ordered multiple time both take out and dining in, never dissapoints. Tried both lean and fatty pork bento and they are awesome. When dining in, one gets unlimited refill of the thinly sliced cabbage, and the grind yourself condiment is great.

Go-to katsu place! Come in hungry and make sure to order their pork iberico katsu - super tender pork. Another favourite is the salmon katsu, nicely cooked and perfect tartar sauce. Sets come with refillable rice, chawamushi, miso soup, unli cabbage, and matcha ice cream. And I have to say, I'm not a bit matcha gal, but this one is pretty tasty. A meal here would set you back 35-40 SGD, but you have to be prepared to spend a bit for quality ingredients 👍

First time here and both of us had the black pork curry tonkatsu. The pork and curry are both delicious. It comes with a set where they gave a big bowl of salad, miso soup and steamed egg. Service is good. The entrance is actually outside the mall.
