There are definitely better Laksa stalls out there, and I don’t think there’s any way I can claim this to be the best Laksa in Yishun.
However, what it truly boasts is its old school flavor and nostalgic existence for many Yishun dwellers. Portion size is good, and prices are still so reasonable.
A rare opportunity to be at Yishun on an early Sat morning allowed me to try this highly rated laksa stall that has been recommended as the 'must eat' at Yishun. The shop is a cosy family run business of 7 tables, with 3 tables outside the shop. At 7:30am, the 3 tables outside were already filled. The shop have only canned drinks, no hot drinks.
My big bowl ($3.50) of laksa comes with fishcakes, cockles, crab sticks, tau pok and half an egg. The laksa soup is flavourful as you can taste/eat the dried shrimps. It is also quite thick creamy in mixture. Cockles are fresh and juicy. The standard is comparable to the famous sungei road one. Definitely is 'must eat' when in Yishun.
The laksa is awesome and portion is really generous for the price!
But place is a bit small and need to eat in a rush cause the Q was so long even at 1.30-2pm. The homemade drink is so so.
