Welcome to the reopened Le Binchotan with a new set of crew. Food is so well done that I really must give my compliments to the Chef. We were here for dinner at this small cozy bar restaurant. We started off with Japanese Sweet Corn as our appetisers and I must say it's really sweet coupled with the savoury cheese topping and Japanese chilli powder. Our mains are the Confit de Canard where the duck has been roasted to crispy perfection where the duck meat is still tender. My bf said this was one of the better duck confit he had. Next is the boneless Beef short ribs where the Chef perfectly complimented the tender and juicy ribs with port sherry reduction. It felt like eating pork ribs and hamburger patties. Best of both worlds. Then came dessert where we tried the smoked chocolate. It tasted as though cigar smoke had been infused into the little cake of chocolate, it's a brand new experience. Ok enuff with the Chef. Let's move on to the bartender. Gwen made us a few drinks, first was a sweet cocktail dubbed chocolate cake where the cocktail manage to smell and taste like chocolate cake without any egg, cream and chocolate added, really surprised me to no ends. As my bf loves St Germaine, Gwen made a concoction of raspberry st Germaine and it's really refreshing. Last but not least, the perfect end to the day was the Fatty Martini, Gwen's idea of what truffle fries should be like whereby the martini glass was brushed with truffle oil and the drink was served with a slice of bacon. This is not your pan fried bacon but your oven baked bacon that's Low on oil but fully packed with flavours. Overall I had a very pleasant dinner at Le Binchotan because you don't just get to have good food and drinks but you'll get to meet the friendly crew here. I will recommend everyone to try again if you haven't.

Great place for gatherings. Staffs are friendly and food are awesome, love it! Personal fave is the Wagyu Beef and Mushroom Risotto; best I ever had to date. Special thanks to Desmond, Gwen and Jeremmy for making the birthday "boys" so happy. We really enjoyed the dinner. Will definitely add this to my hangout list. Well done guys!
