Already repeating customer! As a huge Uni lover & being Japanese, I know what Uni's quality is like in all my life. I must say this "Uni Gallery" has an amazingly fresh, creamy and rich taste UNI !!! Love the Uni Chirashi for the lunch set which is totally value for money. And loved smoked Uni sushi. Crab fries & Sashimi plate & juicy Oysters are also recommendable that I had in a dinner time before. Not only the taste I love the collaboration with Japanese pop art, there are cute drawings there that I enjoy the fun & cool ambient coming from these arts. It's like hidden place! No wonder people queue up long in a lunch time only after 6 weeks they have opened! Must go.
Although my trip to Uni Gallery wasn't exactly a successful one (bear with me as I relate the story), I'd still go back there again. I decided to head to the restaurant as I saw Dr Leslie's post of the 28 (or was it 29?) dollars uni bowl. Unfortunately, they ran out of that particular bowl that day because shipment was delayed (sigh.. I guess it wasn't my lucky day). The wait staff and the chef were really apologetic as I expressed my disappointment. I would give them 10/10 for their EQ in handling a disappointed customer I decided to try that hotate bowl instead and order a side of uni. My friend had the beef bowl. Whatever we had ordered did not disappoint. The thing about uni is that if it was subpar, it would have that really strong off putting taste (chemicals used to preserve it or if it wasn't fresh). The uni had non of that so I'll be returning to try the bowl on a weekday. Prices are reasonable for the good quality uni Oh yes, the chef (or boss?) also gave us a discount to make up for the disappointment so we really appreciated the gesture!
Their Uni and Sashimi are very fresh! Staff was very friendly and warm. We tried the 7 course special, it’s kind of fine dining experience. Even the lunch set looks attractive. Will surely come back again.
Nice little place to enjoy uni. It’s a little tricky to find as it’s in the basement of the mall.
The uni tasting platter is fresh. My favorite is Bafun uni, as fresh as the one we get in Hokkaido.
The sashimi are also fresh and nice. Hot kitchen serves different type of grilled fish and affordable price.
We visited during lunch time on Saturday with a reservation, but it’s not too crowded for lunch.
Went on a weekday for celebration, restaurant wasn't pack and we ordered the 5 course omakase which comes with Uni on most dishes.
Personally am not a fan of uni (my wife is) was passing most of the uni to her but she convinced me to give it a try. To my surpise the uni was fresh, big, creamy and flavourful, would definitely come here for uni again.
Other dishes was well executed, especially the chawanmushi, was probably the best I ever had. However the uni tempura was kinda a waste, the flavour and creaminess was lost due to deep fried.
Also, would be great if restaurant could answer phone call or email query.
Other than the place being difficult to find, food was great!! Especially loved the pasta! 10/10 would have it again!
Pitan tofu was also very tasty!
Would skip the bone marrow though, was kinda bland to me or maybe it just wasn’t my thing 😅
They have recently launch the New Omakase Executive Lunch Set and Premium Uni Chirashi Executive Lunch Set. As a Uni lovers, this is a place that I will come back whenever I crave for Sea Urchin.
