Surprisingly few reviews on this great Italian restaurants at St Regis. Our experience was fantastic as both the service and food were great. The Italian chef came out to greet us and explained to us a little bit about his influence/style of cooking. A few solo diners on Sunday evening and it's probably not the best place to have quick meals. We had marinated lobster salad, pork belly, wagyu strip loin, and chocolate tart, all of which were good. High chance of returning. Recommended.
We are beginning to develop a liking for this small and cozy Italian restaurant, La Brezza. π₯°ππ
The restaurant has about 15 tables and has a warm Mediterranean interior decoration to it.
With the nice warm lights at dinner time it's a really nice feeling.
They have rather small round tables but large comfy chairs. I am not sure why, perhaps that's how you create a cozy feel in a restaurant. βΊοΈππ
The focaccia are freshly baked and it is just heavenly to pair it with a cube of creamy butter ππ We had a simple entree, thinly sliced veal with mayonnaise sauce. It's a touch too salty for me. But it's acceptable. π
The main course was the star of the night for me. I ordered the pork belly and it was just great!
The chef burned the surface to create a smokey and crispy texture. When i sinked my teeth onto the pork belly the fatty portion immediately melts in my mouth. The mixture of smokey, crispy and melt in your mouth feeling is just too good.
The place is not cheap, thankfully we have a 50% voucher to significantly lighten the bill for us.π

Needless to say, we will be back for more.

I was back to my favourite Italian restaurant recently. π
I decided to try the lobster linguine cos it looks so good the last time I was at the restaurant Ike π. The anticipation built up in me when the friendly waiter informed me there is only one last portion left. π
God! I am in luck, I told myselfπ€
The dish was served 20 mins later.
I was disappointed after tasting it.π³ To be fair, the lobster was cooked well, succulent and sweet. And by the look of the dish, they served me an entire lobster.π The tomato sauce was great, with generous portion of mini tomato. π

So why didn't I like it??π€ Well, i think it's personal preference, I prefer more sauce and angel hair instead of linguine. I like to get the dish more involved by integrating the taste and texture of the various ingredients . With angel hair, there will be more surface area for the sauce to mix with the pasta to create a "whole" dish.
Yes, so I think the mixture of the succulent lobster, more tomato sauce is better served with angel hair and some asparagus.
Finally, I have great company that night and that make up for it for me.
Had a pleasant weekday dinner with friends. Good quality food and service - but pricey. We especially enjoyed the lobster/buratta starter (so tiny though). Pork collar ragu pasta was also nice. Carbonara was slightly bland, not what we were expecting. Beef striploin was passable. Lemon baba and gianduja desserts were great. The bill came to about $120 per pax with wine, but we made use of an Amex discount so we got a bit more value.
