The usual long queue prior to Chinese New Year. The shop opens at 9am and when you reach there at 9plus the queue number already 70++, 3hours plus till our turn.
CNY period there’s limit of 10KG per person (500gm per pack).
Purchased their signature sliced ones and also the crispy floss. The normal floss sold out.
In short, if you wanna buy this before CNY, be ready to queue.
Taste is good as always and yes I will buy again, just maybe during non peak period if it’s just to fix my cravings.
Best bakkwa in Singapore! 😋
Prices usually gets bumped during the CNY period, and this time it’s bumped more than 3 weeks out, to $36 per 500g - also, to improve serving and waiting time, the minimum order quantity is 500g instead of the usual 300g.
Definitely will be back post CNY to get more at a lower price point! 👍🏻
Yearly ritual but thankful for nice weather and fast queue. Came at 8.15am and there were about 20ish people ahead of me. Queue moved quite fast once the shop opens at 9am - I got my order by 9.30am hehe the attached picture was taken at 9.15am lol
Tip: the later u come, the longer the waiting time cuz most ppl come later lol. Just get in the queue early and u shld be out by 1hr+
Above timeline was similar for last year as well!
Overall = Very Good ! Bought IN Jan 2021 :-) Taste still very good. Customer service is good. too. .Most important since i went so many weeks ahead of the Chinese new year, there is NO queue almost. Price is before the increase. I bought the Signature Slice. Good taste....
Super fast and efficient service, and decent queue time (~15 mins) Imo their bakkwa is one of the best in SG and pretty consistent. I haven't tasted this year's batch yet, but I'm pretty confident in the quality. Price is around $35/500g or $70/kg for their Signature Pork.
Other flavors include Spicy Pork, Chicken, and Beef etc.
Probably one of the best “bak kwa” in Singapore. We particularly like the Chili Pork that’s lovingly basted in a sweetly spicy marinade. Honestly, it’s best to enjoy them outside if the Chinese New Year peak period.
As the days inches towards the Chinese New Year with about a week to go, the queue is both crazy and madness. Expect long queue without the expectation that you are able to lay your hands on the signature BBQ pork. Although the queue is a big turn off, there is no turning back once you have tasted their signature. Goes best with beer. You will be surprise that friends and acquaintances are made during the 8-9 hours long queue. Would have been a 5 star for me personally if not for the queue during the Chinese festive season. They do have an assorted of flavour ranging from pork, chicken, chilli pork, prawn and beef.
