Hidden gem! We tried the Zi Char~ Could easily find seats on a Sunday night, perhaps cos most orders were to dabao. Price very very reasonable, portions just right too. For 2 people, we ordered 3 small dishes - left feeling very full but satisfied:)

Very personable and chatty senior couple with many old customers. Went there at noon, was told no more bak kut teh, so ordered pig trotter instead. After a while they managed to scoop one last bowl of bak kut teh for me... super touched! Soup was really thick and tasty. Glad that I got to try, for this was the last time before starting pescatarian diet.

Really good Zi char store in a very atas area... Almost all the items in the menus are goods... Prawn paste chicken wings, hotplate tofu, sweet n sour fish, even the green vegetables is so fresh... N hotplate tofu is not salty at all, with just nice the sauce, u can even eat it without the rice ... To top it all up, those aunties and uncles are all so very very friendly n nice... Try it try it try it... Highly recommended...

Excellent Zhi Char! Fish head is fresh, Tou Fu is flavoured, vegetables are cooked just right. Service was fast even though it is crowded. $50 for 4 dishes is absolutely affordable.

Hup Choon is perpetually packed - while their ordering system can be overwhelming and confusing leading to delays - their food is affordably priced especially in an affluent neighbourhood. Will not recommend their Tom Yum soup (it turned out to be spicy soup with random chunks of pineapple) or cai po egg but other standard Tze char dishes are done well. Expect a satisfactory meal but avoid long lines on weekend evenings.

Popular for a good traditional breakfast of wonton noodle, or kopi-toast-egg. A nice outdoor back-to-basic kopi tiam atmosphere but cleaner :) popular with cycling groups in the weekend. The wonton noodle was the highlight, duck rice was also good. Ice lemon tea is perfect not too sweet. The kaya toast, egg and kopi set is good too. Waiters are all great and nice people reminding me of malaysia kampong but it’s in the middle of one of the most expensive estate in singapore! Price is low ~$6 per head usually.

Food is fairly consistent. The service is friendly. The staff remember us because we've been there a number of times. I hear it's a taxi driver recommended eating place. They should know :)

Hidden gem tuck in middle of housing estate that is beginning to shine. Always serve good home cooked food and owner and staff are friendly. The fried prawn paste wings was perfectly done; crispy and juicy. Everyone should try this! Place does get crowded and parking could be a challenge in the evening. It remains one of my favourite place to go, always.
