Review Al Dente Trattoria - Singapore

I was there for breakfast on the 10th of Nov 2022. The food we ordered tasted great! The ambience was amazing and I love the decor. We were seated beside the window. I felt so relaxed while enjoying my food. The staff were helpful, courteous, friendly and attentive. They were all super excellent. I enjoyed myself today. Highly recommended!

Tucked away in a pretty boutique hotel, this cafe serves up both a normal and a keto menu. My partner and myself went there specifically to try their keto menu as we heard great things about it. The place is beautifully decorated and feels really cosy. It is located in the location where pasta brava is. We both ordered the squid ink pasta as we read it was one of their specialties. What happened was that my partners dish came first but a min later the waiting staff mentioned that the dish wasn't meant for us and they took it away. The table next to us told us that one of their diners had been waiting quite a while for their dish and we figured that our table got served their dish instead. When the food came the quality wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing. The pasta was made using konjac (plant based) and had a almost rubbery texture. Interesting to say the least. I wasn't fully satisfied by the meal and ended up going to maxwell hawker next door. Overall the place and staff were nice but unfortunately I wasn't a fan of the food.

Went to Sofi Cafe/Pasta Brava for my birthday with my family. We ordered the beef lasagne, beef meatball spaghetti and seafood spaghetti. I would say all three main dishes were delicious. As we were already quite stuffed, we can only order two desserts, ie the Apple Cake with ice cream and Banana waffle with ice cream. The waffle was big enough for 2-3 pax with two generous scoops of ice cream. Of the two, we preferred the waffle was it was freshly made and the waffle was still crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. As Sofi Cafe/Pasta Brava is pet-friendly, we brought our doggy there as well. Even though we were seated outside, there’s ample ventilation and fans to dine in comfort. They have two sets of menu: Regular and Keto. For the health conscious, they should opt for the keto menu which has some rather unique dishes like keto nasi lemak or char kway teow 😍 Even their desserts such as the tiramisu or panna cotta has Regular or Keto, so make sure you tell the waiter which option you want. Highly recommended and will definitely go back there again to try the other keto dishes. Bon appétit everyone!!! PS: They also have a special keto diet programme whereby they’ll provide you with either 10, 14 or 28 keto meals if you wanna lose weight. Decided to sign up for the keto diet and hope I can lose some weight. Sofi was really helpful in explaining how the keto plan works by making the body burn the excess fat in your body. Hope it works for me…. Keeping my fingers, toes and eyes crossed 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Update 8 Mar 2022: Ever since I started the keto diet on 19 Jan, I’ve lost a total of 5kg after 4 weeks and still managed to maintain the weight loss till today. Need to lose ur weight gradually so that you won’t have saggy skin 😂

Sofi keto cafe is a nice cosy place at Scarlett hotel to dine. It’s pasta selection and waffle selection are its strengths. So 5 stars in that regard. I personally am on a keto diet and the pictures you see here are items from the keto menu. The lasagna and pizza were nice but the price for the items were steep! So it discouraged me from buying more items. Hope this would be useful for potential keto people out there.

TLDR: Overpriced average quality food. Ordered Pasta and Grilled Pork Belly. Both plates came in looking like they were a few days old. Tasted okay at best. 80 dollars for what’s in this picture. One coke zero was 11 dollars?? Overall would not recommend.

Best keto cafe I found so far in Singapore. Can’t believe that Sangria and Bak Zhang (rice dumpling) can be keto (carb free!). Excellent service too

Ordered the keto squid ink risotto and spaghetti, it really was somewhat below average for the flavour, nothing to do if it's keto or not. I'm really surprised the rave reviews on this dish, many commented it's salty, but it was rather bland to me,not sure if the standard today had dropped because they were particularly busy. Gave them 1 more star becuz they were quite generous with the seafood, otherwise would have been just 1 star. Service was horrible, could tell they were very short handed, only 3 staff around on boxing Day, 26 Dec. A lot of tables were asking for their order, seems like they waited for a long time. They serve me the non keto squid ink risotto which was meant for the next table, apparently they waited for their risotto for 45 minutes and it was served to me. I had one bite and the server realised the mistake.

(The pics were taken after we tried the food, I just wanted to show the texture) The hotel was nice but the food at this place is nothing short of pathetic. We ordered the carbonara which had a weird texture and tasted off. We also had both the raviolis on the menu which were $28 each (Verdi con ricotta calleri e acciughe pmodori and the ravioli con carne Di manzo al gorgonzola) and oh my goodness they’re so bad. The sauce was so weird and the sauce in the spinach one just tasted like bottled tomato pasta sauce, the pasta itself was over cooked and tasted like bad homemade pasta. The garlic bread was burnt too. The only ok things were the berries milkshake and then truffle fries. The mushroom soup was lumpy and lacked any flavour. Altogether the bill came up to $155 and I must say it’s the most disappointing meal I’ve had in Singapore. If you’re staying at the hotel, save yourself the turmoil and please just go to club street which is a short walk away.
