It's an amazing place. Out of the city but so peace an quite place. So many options of good food. Fishing. Good view. Must go place for couples specially. I enjoyed the place in every sense. You can go for clubbing with friends. Go for dinner with family. Go on a date with your lady love.
Nice place to chill. It was my first time to catch prawns and it was an exciting experience. We made friends also with some people who catch prawns. We went there during a weekday and it was not so crowded. Generally, the place was good and I had a good time. Will be back there for sure.
A great place for us with three kids of varying age from 3 to 13! Older ones had a great time at Maximum Drift Karting while the youngest one enjoyed himself at Katapult. Dinner at SGMY was good too, authentic local food & beer/ciders for tiring parents are always a treat!
I brought my kids for longkang fishing. $12 per child for the whole day and price includes a plastic tank and scoop net. The fishes caught were then packed in a plastic bag pumped with oxygen. There are shower facilities next to the fishing pond for the children to wash up. Parking is free. Quite a nice place to bring your kids for some fun.
Nice experience with great ambience. Had dinner at Taste Garden during the weekends. Food portion was generous, service was fast and good. The waiters were friendly.
We were at "Taste Garden". I must say that my kids and I enjoyed the experience. The food was great and the service very prompt. It has a great ambiance.
Later we went to."Hops and Berries"..the drinks were good. The service was good too. ORTO great place to unwind or go with family.
Orto park is the place I would go to enjoy Mookata. Tried various outlets but the atmosphere/ambience/outdoor seating at Orto is what makes the difference.
I’m not sure if it’s still taste garden because now the menu’s name is called relax zone, but anyways;
- Food is generally good, nothing extraordinary, though the tom yum seafood pasta doesnt really taste like tom yum, maybe because of the content of the cream. The mussels and the prawns are fresh and succulent.
- The mushroom cream pasta is creamy and filling too.
- The fried platter is pretty okay too.
- Fish and chips; the fish is fresh and tastes good and flaky as well!
Comfortable ambience, although the lighting is a little dark, some may like it, some may find it uncomfortable.
Halal restaurant at ORTO.
They serve both western and local cuisines. Some of the dishes are spicy 🌶 so ask the staff to reduce spice if you can’t take too much chili.
The staff are kind and polite.
Making my way to this restaurant was itself interesting. Since I wasn't familiar with Yishun area I didn't even know that tucked away from the hustle & bustle was this restaurant along with other restaurants, beer garden & a lake (Orto). First impression of Taste Garden Restaurant, I thought it needed a makeover unless that was the intention. The interior was slightly dark, simply decorated with no frills. However, the service staff were very courteous & were able to recommend their signature dishes. The variety of dishes were quite impressive. For starters we had the Bruschetta (grilled bread with Cherry Tomato, Garlic, Olive Oil, Herbs and Pesto). It was good. I also recommend their Briyani rice with Lamb Shank. The meat was tender & rice was light & flavourful. The Duck confit (Confit de Canard) with the side dishes of mashed potatoes & sautéed mushroom was surprisingly well prepared as the flavour of the duck was not too overpowering. The fried rice with shrimp & chicken as well as the Satay were fairly good too. For desserts we had Lava Cake & Chocolate brownie.
Regrettably, the food took a fairly long time to be served. We arrived at 5.30pm & around 4 other tables were already occupied. So we didn't expect the food to take more than half hour to be served. Nevertheless, if you are looking for a Halal restaurant with a nice quiet surrounding, not located in a shopping mall or hotel for a change, serves a decent variety of Local Asian & Western food at affordable prices you might want to give this restaurant a try.
This place was located at orto. It is a halal place. The food here was served within 15 to 20 minutes. I find the food serving time to be just nice for a not too rush dinner.
Taste wise, I would say the nasi lemak was very authentic. The rice is those typical traditional well done santan rice which brought me back to my childhood. The sambal was a good combination to the nasi lemak.
Others were just average. We paid SGD 100+ for 4 pax which was abit pricey but then not too pricey.
Food was great - really tasty and good portion sizes, though it was slightly pricey. Restaurant interior had a vintage feel to it, and didn't really enjoy the yellow lighting. Overall, would still recommend this place for the food. Certainly something different from the rest of the places at Orto (it doesn't serve alcohol)
Tasty spaghetti but portion is less 😅. Pizza a tasty, huge a bit thick dough though. Chocolate millshake is yummmmmm😋. Ambience is good and food is delicious.☺
Review for Hops n Berries, the bar located just beside Taste garden. One of my favourite 'neighbourhood' bars to visit. Everything on the menu is nett. Just a simple, humble bar/bistro that's suitable for everyone. They screen soccer matches from time to time and they offer really affordable prices. The food is mediocre but you can't really complain. Only downfall is that you can't call in to make reservations on busy nights if you plan to catch the game. Otherwise, you could just swing by to get some seats. The staff are really attentive and nice too.
