Review The Shepherd's Pie - Singapore

High ceiling, good ventilation, bird deterrence netting and retro stalls design. Also pleasant music in tune to the diners with ample seating at Bedok Market Place. The ambience is reasonably comfortable. These already draw the crowd. Next food varieties are interesting, you can find a mix of asian and western specialty. Tasting of most food here are flavoursome. I visited here 3 weekend to date and like to hang out here for food and drink. A good place to gather people around and mingle good time together.

The first time I was here was in 2017 when they just started. And I have been coming here over and over and over again to wind (or wine) down. The food stalls here are just amazing in terms of the value of the food - high quality and lower price points for the same thing in other places. To me, it is like Marche but much better. My favourite is Mr. Kneady’s that serves the best pizza made using Sourdough - so you can sourdough bread and pizza toppings at the same time (and their choices have expanded recently). Another of my favourite is M by Madas Nasi Lemak. The other one is The Burning Oak. The best part is regardless of what you eat, there is wine, sake, beer that you can purchase at a reasonable price to go with the food.

Great place to relax and chill in a hawker style concept environment. Amazed by the many choice of cuisine and drinks from bottled beers to fresh tap beers, wine and sake that melt your palate. Exceptional service especially at the Drink Stall. Ordered and received these yummy creamy perfect pour of Guinness from the barista gal who just started working there. Have to make a visit again 🍻

Nice food places around and it is walkable from the East village. Food and fruit juice were good!

Fresh concept of a hawker center. The food seems to be quite hipster but also tasty at the same time. Looks like it is possible to get a beer or too at night

Like the rustic and nostalgia ambient here. Clean and bright dining environment. Mixed local, western, Thai cuisines. Nice foods here.

It used to be rundown and looks abandoned previously. It had a revamped in recent years and the new generation Hawker now houses many hipsters stalls run by the younger generations which the food seems more interesting and adds vibrant to the place

This is a place for homemade sourdough pizza@ Mr Kheady's, simple & no fuss on a thin base, fresh & delicious. At Naughty Chef, we ordered the Porchetta Aglio Olio, which is rather salty & oily & the belly meat though tender & melts in the mouth is rather fat. BCM Alfredo is penne tossed in cream with bacon, mushrooms & chicken, topped with shaved parmesan is too creamy to my liking. Baked Italian meatballs comes with mozarella and homemade pomodoro is tangy & tasty. The meat ball is soft & full of bite. We finished off with a cup of acai berries & granola from Novo at a price tag of $15!

Really impressed with our local home-grown talented chef cum owner of Burning Oak, Jeremy Han. For those who love french food and would like to explore some fusion flavor, this is a highly recommended place to go. If you would like to enjoy awesome french food yet not willing to pay Michelin or celebrity-prices, check them out. Try their all-time signature beef short ribs. Served like yakitori in Guinness stout gravy, it simply melts in your mouth. Another favorite is their beef cheeks which has been slowly stewed with the right tender texture. Even grandpa or grandma with no teeth also can easily bite and swallow. Thumbs up and hope their business gets better by the day ! #burningoak

Decided to give it a try after watching Food-King Good and I am truly impressed with both the food and service rendered! Gonna be my fave joint for my fix of beef deal:)

Was there to try out their grilled beef. Ordered the Dbl Happiness (consists of beef and Iberico pork), turns out to be the best decision ever. The pork is soooooo good, it stole the show. Thankful for not ordering just the beef bowl, else I would nv return haha go for the pork bowl next time, so tender and it melts in your mouth! The truffle bowl was ok too but the grilled beef just didn't live up to my expectations.

After watching Meat and Greed, it piqued my curiosity to give Burning Oak a try. So decided to “ta-pao” this find with my girlfriend. I ordered the pork cheek foie gras and short rib skewers. To our surprise, even it was takeaways, the choice we made hit all the right spot the moment we took our first bite!! Love it love it love it!! There will be a second visit for sure. If you are a meat lover, Burning Oak will satisfy your craving. This place is in a humble location of a hawker centre, but don’t be fooled by the ambience. It is priced reasonably for good quality food.

Tasted a new dish today with a bunch of foodie colleagues: Pork Belly! The meat tenderness is there. The fats aren't the melt in your mouth type, yet with good succulent effect. A light roast on the pork belly before serving added the BBQ aroma effect. Red cabbage side veg was a surprise, as it taste so much better than I thought it was beetroot. Mash potato to complement the full flavoured pork belly and red cabbage. Will love to try the other new dish: chicken breast, cod and HUNGARIAN duck confit

I was a bit skeptical initially when I first visited n they were all sold out in under 2 hours from opening at 6pm. I decided to return the next day and had to join a Long queue at 6.20pm! We tried the Wagyu beef n pork cheeks donburi.. both were great! My compliments to the group of very talented young chefs!👍 Would definitely return to try their foie gras which was sold out😭For those who have not tried please make your way down .. Defoe must try!

Heard about this place & decided to try last Saturday 18th March, we tried the Wagyu beef Rump $14 which was smokey and chewy, the slow cooked beef cheek $15 was excellent and also the Wagyu rump donburi with 2 large pieces of foie gras was heavenly, unfortunately the truffle Wagyu don was sold out around 6pm, nevertheless enjoyable and we will be back. Best time to go is 5pm before the Long queue starts

As I was a little late for dinner, many items, especially best sellers were sold out. What I had: salmon, chicken balls, chicken thigh, belly pork, garlic fried rice, was good. Enjoyed my food and the surroundings. Just that the music was too loud for me!

Probably the most bang for buck wagyudon in town! Loved the pork bowl and wagyu skewer too. Enjoyed chatting with the very friendly uncle who is obviously passionate about the food. Hope the foie gras special becomes a permanent item too. Highly recommended!

Extremely bad It doesn't even deserve one star . Waited a good 25 minutes for horrendous food . Wagyu beef steak $12 was very small with a burnt taste . I could get a whole set western meal with 2 sides for $12 . I didn't even know what I was eating when I ate the '36 hour slow cooked lamb.' Tasted like powder and if I closed my eyes to eat it, I would have guessed it was just badly cooked mashed potato with some beef powder and uncooked flour . And it costed $6 for 2 pieces . It is a clear sign of the overuse of tenderiser, which artificially breaks down the meat . I guess that's how the get it '36 hour slow cooked' . Please do not be deceived like I was from the 'good reviews' . That was the first and the last time I am ever patronising that place If they continue serving this kind of food at this price, be prepared to close down .

Second time and I'm still absolutely delighted with their Wagyu Beef bowl. It is really good. The 72hrs short rib is also awesome!

Wonderful lunch! Stumbled upon this store and didn't know what to expect. Had the combo which is priced at $15, and was blown over by the melt in the mouth pork cheek and wagyu beef!
