Review Seoul Yummy - Singapore

I did not know what got into me, this was my 2nd Korean restaurant in a week. My first Korean restaurant was at Wang Dae Bak which was very pricey but very high standards. Passed by Seoul Yummy a few times, this place was always buzzing with people and food smelled so nice from outside. But since the pandemic happened, there was not a lot of diners as tourists have declined, so I took my chance to skip the queue. A very friendly gentleman (I believe he is the manager) showed us to our table, which I’ve reserved the day before over the phone. Staff came with complimentary banchan and left us with really glossy and colorful menus. As I was only dining with 2 more person, we went for the 2-3 pax Menu, which consist of 2 Mains, 1 Appetiser, 1 Soup & 2 Drinks to choose from. Hotstone Spicy Pork Bibimbap was one of my go-to in a Korean restaurant, simple, tasty & most affordable. If this is not good tasting, anything else is likely to be equally bad. And behold, it was really decent, although nothing special. Spam & Cheese Mini Army Stew was a good portion for 2-3 pax, we barely finished it. It was decent, nothing special, but am glad that they put baked beans ot make sure it was not watery and is saucy. Not a big fan of instant noodles nowadays, but am alright eating it. Ginseng Chicken Soup (+$2) was as good as I expect it to be, but I felt it could be better with a bigger bowl for more soup. The rice at the bottom was well soaked and I finished all of it, less the chicken, which is normal as it tends to be dry from boiling the soup. Ban Ban Pancake, consist of half Kimchi Pancake and another half of Potato Pancake. It was tasty & crispy. But nt very flavourful in my opinion. Perhaps I had a high benchmark from higher-end Korean Restaurants which served more variety of banchan & had more quality meat & dishes. But for a price of $46.80 it was very well worth for 3 pax in a Korean restaurant and be full to the brim.

I will give a below average rating. First of all the food is edible level only, there are better places to go for korean food, second of all service also average only, most of the time you need to look for staff to serve you. Only visit if you have no where else to go and you have a serious craving for korean food.

We came here to have our lunch, ordered their bundle of 2 meals promotion. Mains: Spicy seafood army stew, Spam and Cheese mini army stew. Appetizer: kimchi pancakes Soup: Ginseng chicken soup (+$2) Their portion is just good. Came with their appetizing side dishes, which my friend like their kimchi dish and got it top up. She left her comments kind of alright for the seafood army stew. For my Spam and Cheese army stew, the cheese is just good when it goes together with Spam and the noodles, leaving a little cheesy inside my mouth. As for the ginseng chicken soup, I guess the chicken meat was out from the fridge not long, which it still have a strong meat smell when it was served on our table. Could not taste the ginseng, because they were not those like Korea, where their ginseng will be big piece. Here the ginsengs were very tiny, almost like string kind. For the soup, if it was left for a few minutes, there was kind of some skin layers floating on top. The kimchi pancakes was sort of oily. Not as good as what I was expecting the taste. I would say is tasteless. Last but not least, for the dessert, we ordered the chocolate bingsu. The dessert was not our liking. The bowl of ice was covered thin layers of chocolate chips with a scope of ice cream. What I would give good stars to... was the manager, who was very polite. He approached us when we were having queries on their promotion menu. He would give his patience to us when we were thinking whether to give it a try because this is the first time we want to try Korea cuisine in this outlet. Then he again give us more explanation on the menu choices and how we want to make the payments. Today's damaged was S$56.72. With ocbc card member, there is a 15% disc, with spending of S$50.

We ordered the Black Stew (main because the kids can't eat spicy food). The braised pork is the unassuming star of the dish. It is stewed until it is able to melt once put into the mouth. The decorations is vibrant korean pop-art style. Most importantly, the service crew is hospitable and extend the service standard above the norm. Was a good experience overall. Prices in the mid-range. Payment by credit card, NETS, Cash.

I got mixed feelings for the food in Seoul yummy. First, the food was decent and i think taste wise is to target young audience with korean food. They provide kimchi and other entree in small plate and you can top up too. The selection in menu was good and variety with combo meal. We order the Korea Army stew, and given it price point (around 40 sgd) the portion is huge and can fulfill 2-3 person. Second, I dont like the space quite cramped and the table dont have enough space to hold our food. So we need to finish the army stew in order other food can go in (how you can finish the army stew that big). But i understand given the small space and want to utilize the space area. Lastly, given it price and portion, I think it is quite worth to dine in seoul yummy. But not my place to go to if i want more real korean food. If you like authentic taste of korea food, dont go to seoul yummy. overall it was good and nice food, but i feel the taste can get the same at korean stall in some hawker area.

We tried this restaurant when hungry and tired after shopping in ION around 3pm, but there are still 4-5 tables with customers who were having late lunch. The beef stew and korean fried chicken are super yummy and special that we have not tried at any other restaurants before The most important reason we like this restaurant and we will still come back again is the their friendly and helpful staff who are always very responding and polite, recommended you to try with friends and family.

While the food isn't bad, actually it's quite nice, and the kimchee they offered are delicious and spicy. The service however is very slow and inattentive. Took quite a few attempts to catch attention from the waiters even just for placing orders. Not sure if I will come back for this.

Went to Novena Square2 outlet today with friends. Here's a shout-out to the store manager who was very attentive and helpful. She also volunteered useful menu recommendations for a great value. Food came out quickly too. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Food was good with free flow side dishes. Service was acceptable for a crowded place. Had a fun time at the Bugis+ outlet and will visit again (:
