Review Chiksoo - Singapore

First time trying. Was here on a weekend evening about 6.30pm. Waited about 10mins for the seat. Took the buffet selection. 2 adult + 1 kid package is SGD 73. Giving 3 stars for the food. The army stew soup base is quite blend, the meat is not well marinated. The table arrangement can be quite tight. U can keep hearing things dropping from diff tables. Customer service is good and bad. Total 3 serving staff, 2 ladies and 1 guy. The guy was attentive and proactive but the ladies are very passive. My opposite table dropped the plate and it broke. The ladies just stood there unresponsive and unhelpful. It was until the guy react to it then the ladies start moving. The ladies were also sloppy when serving the tables.

We came here for lunch as my wife wanted to try it out for quite some time. We have ordered the Army Stew Set for 2 pax with a choice of chicken and 2 drinks. The foods are great and we are pretty full. It is just nice for 2. 👍🏾👍🏾

Was in the area and decide to check out this place . Army stew was ok, flavour is a little kind of lagging. The pancake’s great and I do like their in house-made pickle that’s served before the food is served.

The food is average and enough for 2 persons. Only 2 staffs (if not mistaken) working at the busy dining area but the male staff is nice and speak in polite tone. The bill doesn’t come with GST 😀

Visited this friendly KBBQ restaurant in the neighborhood yesterday. We were served by attentive staff and they acted as cashier and waiter. It is understandable that is not easy to serve and respond to some demands at the same time but proactiveness very surprised us. Asking for room of improvement and chit chat with us. Will visit again!

One of the most extraordinarily uncomfortable dining experience of my life. Here's a firsthand account of my Chiksoo dinner... Early in the week, I made a reservation for 2 pax for 7pm dinner for Saturday via WhatsApp with their official Chiksoo business account. WhatsApp reply was prompt and professional and polite. Excellent initial impression. I arrived at the restaurant on Saturday 7pm and was told by the male waiter/manager that they had made a mistake with my reservation and that the restaurant was full at that time and that he would contact me once an empty table was available. First tiny red flag, but no big deal to be honest. I gladly agreed and proceeded to walk around the mall first while waiting to be contacted again. I entered the restaurant around 7.30pm and proceeded to order the following for my New Year Day celebration dinner (Weekend Dinner buffet for 2 pax, Kimchi Pancake, Korean beer and Soju). Restaurant was fairly packed at that time. I was also given an Order Sheet to choose the food items for the buffet and proceeded to make my first buffet order. Here's where the problem really began. Most of the buffet items that I ordered did not arrive. Maybe only 20%. I had to prompt the service staff multiple times before most of the items finally arrived. This same problem plagued my second order of buffet items as well. I also had to remind the male waiter about my Kimchi Pancake order twice before it finally came 45 mins into my dinner. Food was average at best, nothing wrong but nothing to shout about too. Kimchi was the highlight. The most unique part of my experience was the attitude and behavior of the male waiter. It was a sight to behold. I could understand the restaurant was somewhat understaffed during the night. It was basically the male waiter and another 2 female waitresses manning a total of 8-10 tables. The male waiter was in such a foul mood throughout the night and in all honesty, he wasn't trying to hide or control it at all. He was giving short replies to all the requests from me and other diners for the entire night. He was deliberately displaying a very annoyed body language all night. To be fair, he was not intentionally rude to me during the multiple times that I had to ask for my orders or missing items etc. He was simply in an extremely foul mood, almost in a kamikaze or self-destruct mode all night, deliberately displaying and amplifying his personal unhappiness to every diner. Tension and negativity were thick in the air (while grease was thick on the floor) 🤪 Diners around me all had the same problems with their orders and had to repeatedly ask him for missing items etc. This created a very uneasy vibe around the restaurant. All I thought about was just quickly finishing up my food and getting out. The air of uneasiness within the restaurant only intensified, as the male waiter continued to storm around, fully displaying his unhappiness to diners all night. His replies became shorter, bordering rude and curt. His facial expression showed that he was deeply unhappy about something, partly because it seemed like he had to run around to tend to multiple customer requests (due to their inability to give customers what they had originally ordered in the first place). I almost felt sorry and sad for the male waiter. He behaved like a spoilt child who was clearly unhappy about something and was intent on showing it to everyone (throwing tantrums). Grossly unprofessional & unacceptable service and attitude by any self-respecting frontline personnel. He was hell-bent on broadcasting and spreading his personal frustrations and negativity to everyone around him, creating an unnecessarily unpleasant dining experience for everyone. Bad jujus for the first day of 2022 😓 We were all paying customers who were just there for a good time to kickstart 2022. I do not believe that I or diners around me were rude or unreasonable in any shape or form. Believe me, no one really has the time or energy to make life difficult for any fellow human being on the first day of 2022 😊

Came on a weekday noon around 1pm. Not much patrons so got a table straight away. Bbq & army stew Buffet cost $75 for 3 adults & 1 kid with drinks like ice tea or Korean barley tea. Bbq only pork available now, understandable as chicken is hard to get at the moment. Pork belly is in original or galbi choice, sliced pork is in spicy, galbi or original choice. For me I love the spicy sliced pork while my mum like the galbi pork belly. The kid attending to all of us in the shop is prompt & attentive. Army stew not too spicy so just nice for the kids. Not the authentic kind of Korean bbq but I’m satisfied enough for the price paid & a walking distance place ~ 😊

Been to this korean restaurant since the opening. But dont taste the same now. Used to be Delicious and price were reasonable. We always order their affordable BBQ and stew buffet. Our lunch favourite was their spicy seafood ramen and cheese beef bulgogi. BUT THEIR STANDARD DROP. During covid times, when it reopens, I recommended my friend to try and we went to order their buffet. To my disappointment, they changed their meat quality. But yet the price increase. I also ordered seafood stew but their seafood stew comes without any ingredients and funny thing is no seafood in it at all. Their to order menu only has fish and other army stew ingredients. Another time i ate with my husband, the same regret with the quality of the meat. Yesterday was worse, we both had my favourite spicy seafood ramen. They cut the ingredient without informing us. When the ramen arrived, there was no mussels (use to have), only 2 frozen prawn, scallops and 2rings of calamari. Calamari was transparent (rubber like). But the picture in the menu did not change.. this was the picture of the seafood pancake, hardly any seafood in it. Only the laste and it comes without the pancake soy sauce. SUCH DISAPPOINTMENT! They cut their quality and ingredients, which make it not worth going anymore.
