One of my Favourite places to eat and easily one of the more authentic Teochew porridge you can get.
Cooked and served by majority local staffs, family owned and operated...
Things to eat:
1. Sliced duck meat
2. Fish head, sells out real quick and a hidden gem
3. Squid with sweet sauce
Whenever we have any craving for Teochew Porridge we will return to this place. They have many varieties that suits all my family. We simply love it's simplicity. Simple is beauty. :)
Comfort food at its best. Simple dishes that reminds me of my mom's cooking when I was younger.
D porridge is how Teochew porridge should be. D food is good.

Wow food teochew porridge
Was raining and it is the closest toneat by. 5 adults 2 children. Order mix food, rice, congee. Fried fish cutlet was good, others are ok ok. Total price 68.3 sing dollar.
Had late dinner here last weekend. Parking is a challenge. Had to park 2 lanes away and walked over.
Food wise, tasty! Especially the hae bi hiam. Love it! Fish cakes a bit stale though, maybe we came too late.
Sits 5 per table.
Hougang and Kovan is probably well famous for their Teochew Porridge given the rich Teochew history of this location in SG since the early 80s to 90s. Soon Soon Teochew Porridge is my favorite and most frequented porridge stall within the vicinity - simply for its affordable and quality dishes.
You might have heard of other outlets charging outrageous dollar amounts for certain dishes but Soon Soon is consistent not only with their prices, but also quality of each dish which they produce in fresh batches for lunch and dinner.
My usuals are the Sweet and Sour Pork, Otah, Long Beans, Fried Egg, Ginger Chicken, and tau pok/tau kwa. You can pair them with a warm bowl of porridge during rainy days (great comfort food for that weather!) or just a bowl of rice. Seating capacity is decent. Place is also well-ventilated. Service is extremely quick. 5mins walk from Kovan MRT as well. Super convenient! Parallel parking available right outside the store or opposite at Heartland mall.
A frequent haunt for porridge that isn't too crowded and is located not too far away from places that I can park. There is a decent variety of dish choices, but I really prefer this place for its convenient by car and the quietness of its location since it is not directly by the main road. The food is not too pricey especially when sharing and there queues are usually quite short. The duck dish is my usual go to.
Ordered so much food with my friends and it cost $31.80, which was pretty worth it… Food was really tasty, and the vegetables (especially the french beans) were very well-executed. :-)
