Nice place for family meal. Prices are quite reasonable for a restaurant type establishment.
Pros:
1. Fish steamboat was excellent in taste, and even after refill it does not have the watered down taste you find in most other places
2. Prawn paste fried chicken gets a double thumbs up!
3. Service was fast and all staff were very polite
Cons:
1. A little nit picking here, but the rice can be greatly improved
2. The scallop with spinach was rather plain tasting (would suggest using different soup stock)

Tucked in the corner of east village shopping mall. Is a cozy little restaurant called Lai Huat Seafood. First time dinning here even though we come to East Village pretty often.
Order 3 dishes and I would say the food is delicious. The most outstanding dish would have to be the deep fried eggplant with pork floss. This dish is not easy to execute. I have to compliment the chef for the this outstanding dish because the eggplant was oily despite it being deepfried. The rest of the dish were great as well.
Price is slightly higher than most zhichar stall around but I honestly think it very worth it. Can tell they have a few other signature dishes like the crispy promfet with sambal and the tow kay beehoon.

Food was good and tasty, polite and friendly serving staff. Must try their Sambal Fish (crispy done), fried prawn roll (虾枣), fish maw soup.

Nice little restaurant just around the corner. Their signature beehoon is really nice! Worth a try! The shop owner is also a very modest and sincere person. The waitresses there are also friendly and helpful. Overall, had a good dining experience there.

One of the best fish head steamboat places in Singapore. The soup is really good. Been here twice and both times were great.
To drivers: parking at the basement is much easier and there are usually more available lots; carpark rates are same or similar both outdoors and in the basement.

Bought and packed five dishes today. Find the food over priced especially the cray fish. Two and half number of cray fish for $30. See pic.
