Review Pappasan 17 - Singapore

Wow. Found this place on a food app, went in with 0 expectations and was impressed by the food quality. Ordered tom-yum seafood pasta. The seafood is surprisingly fresh. Scallop was succulent! Squid was not rubbery and i could actually swallow it easily! prawn and mussels were still juicy too. Pasta goes well with the slightly spicy sauce and is not drowned in oil. I will be back =)

Very very new place (or newly renovated?). Quite enjoyed the kimchi wagyu beef fried rice, and the portion is huge, although the beef was rather tough. In contrast, the tenderloin was a small portion, but really truly tender. Prices are only decent with 1-for-1.

Probably one of the worst dinner I had in my life... Food was expensive and not tasty at all, staff was unfriendly and after waiting 10 minutes for somebody to order a dessert they told me it was too late and they had to close. Stay away from this place. Beer + noodles = 39$

Delicious beef steak with unlimited French fries! Normal prices.

fish and chips were great! $9.90 for a huge serving. boxes for quality and quantity definitely checked. pricing for a restaurant within a hotel is very reasonable. 🙂 sidenote tho, they seem understaffed so visitors might have to wait around for awhile before they attend to you (to guide you to seats etc)

Was there with my family for a 3days 2 nights staycation last month, march 2021. We went for lunch and the cashier showed us rude face and his tone was rude too. He served us in a very rude manner but i noticed he was extremely nice to 2 chinese ladies who came to eat there after we were there. Conversed with them and served them so well and infact walk them off and still having conversation with them while with us he is alwayz with sulky face. He can speak english unlike the other guy who can't but so much better in mannerism. Another racist i guess. This restaurant loves to hire such people or what? But i do not have any complaints for the food. It was yummy and very affordable and huge portion. Look into educating your staff hotel boss.

Had dinner on 15 sep. Ordered 4 main courses, all failed big time! 1. Chicken schnitzel - when ordering this i asked de service staff if it is chicken breast meat that is used. He said yes. It turned out to be a small thin piece of thigh meat that was overfried n the meat was rubbery. It was bland, the thigh fillet was not seasoned or marinated at all. Accompanied by a black pepper sauce that was just passable. It came with few sticks of french fries n a mushy mix of beans n stuff which i couldnt decipher. This dish tasted horrible! I never liked thigh meat, de waiter is ignorant about the restaurant products. 2. The hawaiian pizza was bland n tasteless, with puny bits of pineapple n shrivelled chicken ham with a plasticky texture. The mozarella cheese was bland n i felt like chewing on a mass of rubber bands. I had to spit out the rubbery mess as it was too unpalatable to swallow. 3. The semi baked salmon was not fresh...even before i put it into my mouth, i could sniff a fishy stench fr de small morsel. It was fishy n overdone. The few pieces of sauteed baby potatoes were not properly seasoned n again there is a undiscernible mass of mixed veg sitting beneath de salmon slice. This is the most expensive dish of the 4 items....$21!! Terrible food! 4. The fried kway teow cannot be compared to those i have eaten at hawker centres. The kway teow here is fried till too soft, no wok hei meaning the fiery heat fr the frying wok. And the garnishing is just two medium prawns n few slices of fish cake! No beansprouts or veg or lapcheong...So disappointed with this dish. I read reviews abt this dish that it is a must try...but so sorely disappointed! I m surprised that the postings here raved abt how good the food is. That is why i chose to dine here. But all the dishes i ordered failed so miserably in taste, quality of ingredients n presentation. Could it be that it was a different cook on the day i was there? It could not be my personal flawed tastebuds, becos my other dining companions also found the standard of food quality sorely lacking. This is certainly my first n LAST time to dine at pappasan

Managed to get 50% off from Eatigo App on a weekday lunch. Their fish and chips and Cajun Burger are perfectly done!! The place is huge and spacious too. Suitable for business discussion or even by groups meet up for meals! Service by staff is excellent too! Well done!

Cajun chicken burger and the best fish and chips in town are the 2 must-try here. You won't regret it.
