Lots of cooked food not limited to local delicacy but also northern China Spicy Mala crusine. A place which famous for the YongTauFu usually long queue was not open on Thur. Expectations founded!
Tried out one of the China stall at People's park food centre. This stall is facing the MacDonald restaurant called "Chuan Wei Zhuang" means river smell village.
Ordered three dishes, quite tasty if you don't mind the thick layer of oil, typical China style.
We ordered one Mapo White Oil Tofu, (Super tanker oily), Twin Cooked Sliced Pork (Super fragrance), Stir Fried Lattice (Nice and crunchy) and two plates of rice.
The bill comes to SGD20.
Reasonable priced dishes. I love the taste of the tofu, has a light mala taste. Different from the Malaysia Mapo tofu.
You need to order sugar cane drink to wash it down if you aren't into heavy favoured dishes.
Definitely going back to tackle the rest of the dishes.🌼
Loved the Siow Long Pau! The pork-filled dumplings were excellent! Filled with meat, soup and served piping hot!
Tried out some China dishes yesterday at People's park food centre. Bought from 2 different stalls. The fried dumplings n the boiled one ,quite nice n cheap-12 pcs for $5. These are cheaper than what I ate before. The hot sour ,spicy homemade noodles n the soup noodles( China version of LOR MEE)was good. Especially the LOR MEE ,$4.50 w 2 decent prawns ,Lala too. The price is quite reasonable. Very surprised to see that 1 can cold Coke n 1 hot coffee only cost $2. Cheaper than the coffee shop near my house.
There is a wide variety of food, especially Chinese cuisine.
The place is messier than the other food center due to the large crowds, so if you looking for somewhere quieter, it's definitely not for you but you can consider coming here to pack and go.
I recommend the stall Chinese name "Sichuan flavour " their BBQ fish are very popular but their other dishes are also delicious. They are located beside a drink stall on the extreme left of the center. Give them a try but beware of the long waiting time and queue.
3 floors with the ground floor as hawker center. 2nd and 3rd floors are retail shop that sell clothings, cloth by the meter and hardware shops. Pretty nicely kept
Good variety at value, many good traditional eats and generally a Chinese food venue. There's quite a few vanishing traditional eats such as Lor Kai Yik and Hainanese Lor Kway Teow. Other Legendary must-trys include Yong Xiang Xing Yong Tau Foo, Lek Kee Braised Duck Rice, Zhen Zhu Fang Roasted Delights, Dao Kee and if you're a Mala fan, this is like the Mala Hawker Capital of Singapore. Could be cleaner though.
