Fresh, good selection. Helpful service. Opens till 5am daily!
Only problem in this area is the often limited parking by the road but thankfully it wasn't too bad Sunday at 9pm.
Things we tried:
1) Braised duck, tofu, pork belly and large intestines etc platter for about $16.90. The large intestines were good and tender. The amount was good for the price.
2) Simple stir fry baby kailan
3) Omelet - This had a nice light crispy texture
4) I like that they gave us individual saucers of chilli without asking.
5) French beans with chai por - This was served up brightly green and tender. The chai por didn't look like the mass produced kind. It was quite plump and soft and not as salty.
6) Bitter gourd - it was served slightly chilled but it was really tender and not that bitter. Even my dad who doesn't like cold food commented that it was good.
7) Porridge was 70 cents a bowl and a bigger than average size bowl. Lots of porridge water if you like that. I gave mine to my family.
Things to note:
- You can ask for a bowl of "lor" sauce free like the stuff they drench the duck in.
- They don't have bottled water but the girl ran next door to buy it for us and we paid cash for this separately $1.20.
Good service & homely comfort food. As it was late we had teochew porridge. The Chye-po egg was fragrant, Mei Chye & Xian Chye was excellent too. Environment pleasent and appealing. Would definitely return
