The person serving at this place is extremely rude and snappy. There are good ratings for this place, thus i conclude that the only reason i faced this bad service is because the owner is mildly racist leading to his hostile tone and attitude-filled service.
I do not recommend this place if you are looking for friendly staff.
PS: He charges you more than usual price if you seem vulnerable enough to fall for it.

Fronted by the cheery and knowledgeable owner, Michael, this neoghbourhood barcafe offers an extensive range of Jap craft beer, liquers and sake. The char kway teow and Mexican fried rice are scented with good wok hei, which coupled with some craft beer, make for a satisfying meal.

Stopped by for lunch with the hubby. Was initially abit confused cos the exterior looks like a Japanese restaurant focusing on beer. But we were enticed by the sign promoting $6 each for their char kuay teow and Hokkien mee specials - turned out to be so good that we wiped our plates keen before belatedly realizing that we forgot to take any photos... CKT had a lovely charred wokhei and generous amounts of smoky lupcheong. Personal fav is the Hokkien mee - am pretty sure there's alcohol in that amazing pork broth. Kudos to the chef! Even daresay I like this Hokkien mee over the famous bukit timah market one. So pleased that we have moved nearby, will be back to try the rest of the menu.

My wife and I absolutely love this place! Great food and great, enthusiastic owner and staff. Always have a fun conversation when go here for dinner, usually once/week. Menu has evolved nicely with the new chef. Would recommend to anyone when in the area.

A Singaporean neighbourhood izakaya. Great Char Kueh Teow, chicken karaage and deep fried oysters (amongst other local delicacies and Japanese finger food) paired with a handsome selection of Japanese craft beer. Casual and relaxed atmosphere, like a true izakaya. And fab service by Michael.

The owner is people’s smart - very friendly and accommodating and the chef cooks food equal to your money... became our favorite hang out.

It's a nice cozy cafe with no-fuss, friendly service, just great for a nice, relaxing meal. Thumbs-up for including vegetarian options and customising to Vegetarian/Vegan tastes. The vegetarian tomato pasta is excellent, full of chunky veggies. Keep it up!
