2021 Michelin Guide Singapore listed Pondok Makan Indonesia serves a fantastic Mee Rebus for $3.00. As the only Muslim hawker stall listed in Michelin Guide, the stall has garnered a cult following among the Malay community for being one of the best places for Malay food, it also sells satay, gado gado, mee soto and tahu goreng. The stall actually began as Indonesia Satay & Soto in the 1960s, moving all the way from Orchard carpark to its current location at Queen Street.

Read about this hawker stall being the 1st muslim stall in Spore being given Michelin ratings...hence popped by to try after visiting the nearby Guan Yin Temple. 1 word that is most appropriate for the dishes served...fresh!! Dishes tried were tahu goreng, mee goreng, lontong and chicken satay... Tahu goreng had very fresh and soft tahu that was deep fried just enough to give it a slight outer layer of crispiness. Topped with sliced lettuce and blanched bean sprouts before being drenched with a grated peanut sauce. A tad spicy but very delicious. Mee rebus had a thick braised sauce over properly blanched noodles...found the sauce a bit sweet foe my liking. Lontong...sedap...fresh ingredients in not too pverly lemak gravy...long time since I walloped until the plate was empty. Satay at 9am in the morning...where to find man : ) ...and in a hawker centre setting. Well marinated skewered chicken was bbq till a slight charred exterior and very soft... Kettupat was moist and soft...an indication of freshly boiled rice that was made today. Stall was very efficient with 4 makciks operating within the small space and a lady boss taking order from the long queue of customers. Was much delighted to be served by the Lady boss who was extremely courteous and humble...not common in stalls that are very popular, with Michelin ratings too. She was asking folks to sit down and will deliver their orders if they had ordered food that require some waiting time...e.g.satay Yoy would have to be seated near the vicinity of the stall...else just take a seat and wait for your order Stall warrant a return for sure ...to try other dishes that had a high order rate ..like satay, mee rebus and lontong.
