Lai Heng Fried Kway Teow - Singapore - Photo album

Char Kway Teow (SGD $3) @ Lai Heng Fried Kuay Teow & Cooked Food. . Now in the hands of the 4th generation since its founding just after World War II, they've been consistently serving a family-recipe wet savoury sweet version of char kway teow paired with otah(!). . Tossed with dark sweet soy sauce
❌ Don’t understand what’s the hype with this. Totally no wok hei and doesn’t have the sweet taste that ckt should have. The only saving grace is that the portions are quite good for the price - $2.50, $3, $4 and $5. The $2.50 suffice as I couldn’t finish my $3 plate (probably cos it’s nothing nice)
Favourite char kway teow stall. Prices had gone up a little $3 and $4 portions now after the few months of renovations at shunfu. Seating has changed. CKT still taste as good. Just my thing. Taste is so subjective.
First time visit here and saw the long queue. We are undaunted and decided to join. Not disappointed at all as the queue moved quite fast because the char kway teow was fried in batches. We ordered $3 serving plus $1 for their otah. Generous with cockles. Well fried, not too dry or too wet, just nic
This is my favorite fried kwayteow. At only $2.50 or $3, the portion is big. I especially like the right dampness, which is not oily too. The taste is just right. I think it's about the sweet dark soy sauce they used. The otah at $1 each is also just nice to go with the plate of kwayteow. There's
while the char kway teow is usually above average, the plate i had today was very disappointing. i could only bear to finish half the plate. the kway teow and mee were undercooked and very hard to bite through. the taste of the sauce was not infused into the noodles. it is a slipshod frying effort b
Firstly there is a queue for this stall, but it clears pretty fast. Ordered the $3 portion with chilli. Price vs portion wise its cheap. Very hard to find Char Kuay Tiao at $2.50 base price. Taste wise it was flavorful with strong sweet sauce taste. But the wok hei flavour was almost non existing.
Came here based on the good reviews. Ordered a $4 portion and the serving size is average. But taste is pretty awesome.
