Review Cafe Sunset Railway - Singapore

Nasi briyani cost $17 with 1 big drumstick and Acha. The briyani chicken taste like canned curry chicken and no spice flavour in the rice. Nasi Lemak cost about $11 and the rice taste plain too, but ingredient are ok. No wow factors for both food and environment, big carton boxes was placed on the floor and next to tables. Can give a missed if you have better choice.

Marble cake is warm and moist! Not too sweet. Most importantly dogs are welcome :)

Nasi briyani is their special today. I would say the rice lack of punch with the spices I would expect. The chicken leg curry is average, the meat kind of a little bland probably lacking of marinated or cooked long enough in the curry. Coffee is really bad… I can’t even sleep the aroma at all but it coast me $4 a cup. Order half boiled egg and ask for light soya sauce, they said sorry they don’t have as covid can’t provide the sauce. I told them the FUN toast provided me options for dark and light sauce.. but they insisted the packet only come with dark and not light soya sauce .. The ambience is cosy but the noise level was too loud as some patrons came in with lots of taking and cheering. The owner even sit down and talk and laugh.. ! Not worth a visit if you want to spend a quieter weekend with your loved ones.. hard to even talk and hear each other properly..

Wonderful spot for a coffee and lunch. Local dishes are prepared with care and are delicious. Vibe is relaxed. You can phone in your order for pickup. Reclaimed wood make up the bench seating. Interesting artifacts adorn the walls. Spotted a couple of customers who brought their dogs and sat outside. Highly recommended.

Close friends introduced us to this lovely cafe, and service was excellent by Debra and her team. The nasi lemak was full of flavour, and we especially liked the rendang chicken. The mee siam was nice too, but slightly too sour for me. The kaya and butter toast was great, especially with the various teas and coffees, though somehow we did not really like the spam sandwich. The otah version was tasty. Prices are reasonable, and brunch came up to under $20 per person.

Really rude service. Food is really just average or even below average. Not worth a visit. Especially with the very rude attitude displayed by staff and staff are sarcastic unnecessarily. Unpleasant. Will never visit again although I stay in this neighborhood. Hope they would reflect on how they treat their customers. People pay to have good food and a relaxed time at a cafe. Not to a black face and “hawking” attitude hovering around.

Finally got here after following friend's recommendation. The owner operator and staff are very friendly and warm. We tried the special for the day - Opo Ayam with a laksa and a teh "peng". The food is very good. Owner chatted with us and said we could check restaurant's Facebook or Instagram to find out their daily special. They also serve peranakan favourites like ayan buakuluak. We hope to come back again with my parents soon to savor the restaurant's specials soon.
