We chanced upon this little no fuss outlet. It looked simple and clean. Owner and staff are friendly. Rice served is chicken rice — cooked just right - not hard nor mushy. Crispy baby squids has good crunch with the right amount of caramelized coating. Mixed veggies was not overcooked. Lemon Chicken has a good portion of lightly-battered chicken fillet slices. They retained the crispiness too even though they were doused with tangy lemon sauce. All of us of 3 different age groups (Above 80, Above 50 and Above 10 years of age) enjoyed this meal. Total bill came up to $40.55.
Today, we are here again for dinner. Now managed to add in photos of the almost-the-same-ordered dishes except today, we had sambal kangkong and tofu with prawns. The kangkong was not clumpy nor too oily. There is still the crunch, hence not overcooked.
Tofu with prawns dish has good-sized prawns that are fresh. The sauce over the dish was done “hor-fun” egg-based style. So if you enjoy the “wet”/“sup kum” style, order this dish.
Consistent good quality is important. Better still, the lady server still remembers us! 😃

Ate here a few times when I'm in the area. It's like I found a hidden gem in this quiet neighborhood.
The Malay-style chicken I ordered is boneless and tasty. The omelette is tender with a light crisp. All the staff are friendly and efficient, even during rush hour at noon. I enjoyed my experience here every single time.
Felt the price was a little expensive with GST, but it's still worth every penny for the great meal I had!

Ordered a chicken rice with extra chicken and rice for takeaway. However, their portion was so stingy on the rice and especially the chicken as seen in the photo. Also, where is my cucumber? Non-existent! All of this for $6. Sigh what a disappointment. Not my first time ordering, and yet I get this kind of standards even though I bought it again. What made it worse is that I travelled from the north and to come all the way here for a disaster. It is not like the same standard as the old generation rex. What a pity.

Roast chicken and the rice is good and live up to the "Rex" revered name -however tofu hotplate dish is disappointing. Svc very quick but interior needs to be spruced up

Staff have major attitude… first got our orders all messed up. wanted sunny side up egg to go with our mee goreng but was told they don do that. First and last time here.

Nice fragrant chicken rice that is halal.
Reasonably price too. Just that need to look for parking as no carpark. And also the chicken can be quite salty for those sensitive taste buds.
