Nice retro area with a lot of 1960s' buildings for you to take pictures as well as nice food around this area. Also there are many chic cafe for you to chillax outside.

This food centre may be from the yesteryears but it’s big and spacious compared to older food centres built around its time. It’s located at the second level with one complete round of stalls with a variety of local delights. Easily access by the lift and one main escalator with adjoining multi-storey carpark. Surface carpark nearby provide alternate parking spaces

Starting the new year at a familiar old haunt at Tiong Bahru Hawker Centre. This Market and Hawker Centre has been through a couple of rebuilds and renovations since it first opened in 1951 as Seng Poh Market. Located just next to the escalator arrival at Level 2 is Hong Heng Fried Sotong Prawn Mee. Helmed by the 3rd generation hawker, this stall serves Fried Sotong Prawn Mee with great Wok Hei. The only negative was that the broth of the dish was a little salty. With many regular customers, one has to arrive early to be able to enjoy this dish. Tow Kwar Pop is a stall that has been around since 1965. Selling a simple and nutriously yummy dish made for a healthy alternative to rojak, the dish consists of grilled on order Tow Kwar that is filled with beansprouts and cucumber slices. One may even throw in a few add ons such as YouTiao and additional Tow Kwar. Koh Brother Pig's Organ soup has been around since the 1950s. Now helmed by the 2nd and 3rd generation hawkers, this stall serves up a great Pig's Organ Soup that works well as a comfort dish during the wet cold days as well as a calming soup on warm days. Great comfort soup that is well prepared and yummy that never fails to lift one's spirits. Having made a circular round of the Hawker Centre, the last stall visited is just to the right of the escalator of Level 2. Tiong Bahru Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice is hugely popular with a queue forming even before they begin service. They serve both white steamed chicken and roast chicken. The white steamed chicken meat here is so tender and the skin was juicy and moist. It was so yummy just eating it on its own. The order of chicken feet was all the collagen goodness with a wonderful chewy feeling that one could enjoy for days as it way prepared in a zesty way which made it all the more refreshing. There are definitely more stalls to try at this fabled Hawker Centre but for now, it has been a good way to begin the year. Of the 3 Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore Award winners here, 2 are definitely deserving of their award.

Really clean, spacious and airy hawker centre! Multiple stores spotted with long queues, yet didn’t eat into the space of the diners unlike many other hawker centre would. 🏬 Store reviews 🏬 Tiong Bahru Hainanese boneless chicken rice - decent plate of chicken rice, everything was well cooked, chilli was very flavourful yet not overpoweringly hot 👍🏻 老陈 carrot cake - tried both the white and black version, and preferred the black version more (though I usually go with the white one) Tiong Bahru Bak Chor Mee - wasn’t anything to shout at, a normal bowl of BCM Zhong Yu Yun Wei Wanton Noodle - an average bowl of wanton noodle Tiong Bahru Fishball - good addition to the meal!

A normal market in Singapore, but it's worth the visit if you're around. The 1st floor is for food and daily necessities, but the 2nd floor is a great food court. The food is quite cheap compared to other places, and they have a really nice dessert shop. However today, because of Covid, lots of table were available. Noteworthy : there's a bus station next to it, so it's easy to reach from Downtown

Impressed with this hawker as it’s big, spacious and really clean! The cleaners were seen scrubbing the pillars as well. Recommend the 老陈black carrot cake seen in the first stall when coming up from the escalator.

Located on the 2nd floor of Tiong Bahru Hawker and Market is this understated eatery stall, Teng Ji Fried Fish Soup. When u walk pass in the morning, u can smell the mouth- watering of fried fish being deep fry for one of their awesomeness soup. This is one of the stalls that I will go to when I need a simple soup base meal with rice. For today, I choose the white fish soup. This bowl of fish soup though look really simple and lack the spice look of the deep fry version, is pack with that punch that will satisfy your palate. To start with the rice is cook just nice for my preference, not too soft but with the texture. The first mouthful of soup just wake up my tummy. Every spoonful of soup, is fill with the freshness and happiness of every soup lover. This soup which look simple, is the effort of the people that comes early in the morning to prepare the broth. TOP with the a small pc of the tradition dry fish, a must have, in fish soup. Without it is not complete. Don’t underestimate this small pc, it enhanced the level of the soup to another level. Even the green, r just so fresh and crunchy. Now the main star, the slice fish, is so smooth and fresh, that complete this total package of rice, soup and fish. For my own version of eating, I will always drop in a few pcs of red cut chilli to give the extra wow. If u happen to come by there, do give it a must try.
