Review Ta Lu Prawn Noodles - Singapore

Came here with a 1-for-1 voucher bought with chope. My dish was supposed to be big prawn ($12) but as my food was being served I was told that the boss has changed and they no longer offer big prawns. They served me with halved smaller prawns and ribs instead. I packed my other portion and this time i was asked the i requested all prawns and no ribs and was given a generous serving of prawns. The portions were huge but unfortunately the taste of the dry noodles just didn’t cut it for me… something is missing in the sauce (maybe pork lard and good chilli?) and the taste falls short compared to many prawn noodles shops you can find in SG. The soup is lighter and lacks the natural sweetness of the prawns. Its a pity - i wish for local shops to succeed but there are just too many good options to compete….

Stop by Ta Lu Prawn noodle for an affordable meal option amidst China Square/Cross Street Exchange. The dry prawn noodles ($6-12) was rather mediocre, and the flavour of the broth could be stronger. The egg noodle resembled a bowl of instant noodles cooked by yourself. Carrot cake was sweet and eggy the way I like it. Place is surprisingly quiet on an Saturday afternoon. If I weren’t feeling so lazy, I’d probably drop by Hong LIm Park for its hawker selection instead.

The store retained the old school vibes in its interior, however the taste and style is not exactly homely. The shop is mostly staffed with foreign talents and they often chat loudly while restless. You can tell from their service that they don't take pride in what they cook here. The broth was OK. You can get this taste anywhere else. Prawn was fresh and the two slices of pork was okay. Overall not worth the price of $6. Not sure it if the other dishes are nice, it has diversified to sell porridge and carrot cake too. It's not a fantastic experience so don't bother to make a trip down here.

One of the classic restaurants in Singapore selling the classic prawn noddle or hae mee dish. This has been around for ages though they’ve moved around the neighbourhood a couple of times over the years. The food is good and offers a different twist as the restaurant uses vinegar as base which is different from other shops. The prices are within the norm ie about SGD12 a bowl with a few larger fresh prawns.

Decent Hokkien prawn noodle stall that has been around for years. Soup base is better than similar stalls in Singapore. Prawns are good sized and fresh. Fried carrot is decent as well. Prices are on the high side.

This eatery is known for their prawn noodles. The broth was tasty & the pork rib was tender. It's a bit pricey & the food quality is inconsistent at times. Some customers may not like their dry version of prawn noodles, which has a slight vingeary taste & the chill sauce lacks a fiery punch.

The prawn noodle is quite nice and soup is tasty. Fried Carrot cake is also nice. Expect a crowd during lunch hours due to the offices nearby

They add vinger to their dried prawn noodles which is different from most I dry prawn noodles I tried. Their Otah is fried which is also quite unique. Food is good the prawn noodle soup can be addictive. Wondering if they added lota of msg. However the meal is a little pricy. We have two bowls of dried prawn noodles with pork ribs and a otah it adds up to $25.
