Review Dragon Phoenix - Singapore

Had dinner set meal for 10paxs. Ordered their famous lobster cold dish combination, which was removed from their new menu. Service was good, with an experienced waitress who is caring and attentive. Peking duck was nice, spring chicken had the olden days taste. Special mention for their pulut hitam with ice cream dessert. It was a nice and flavourful dessert. Overall, it was a nice dinner, with little customers on a sunday night( only 3 groups including mine). Perhaps it's the remote location.

Other restaurants in Temasek club were all full so we came to this restaurant, which was totally empty, and we are the only guest. The staff asked how many pax do we have, then no further action thereafter. We were left waiting at entrance until we asked further and they just tell us to pick our seats. Food-wise, we ordered a yam ring ($9.9 for one serving), a wok-fried chicken in honey ginger sauce ($14.80) and a seafood horfun ($12). Portion received were all very small relative to the price. Taste-wise, they are ok. The horfun gravvy is flavourful but salty so I drizzled it on white rice to eat. Cleanliness is also bad, cutleries have stains and food remains on it (see attached photo). Come here only if you want absolute peace, because not only there are no other customers, the waiters will not bother u as well.

My favorite restaurant of 40 years has lost its soul. The famous yam ring has turned into a shadow of what it once was. The famous roast spring chicken was burned and too salty. Time to accept my disappointment and move on.

Fish bones in Yusheng (in ALL the individual slices of raw fish). Met with nonchalant attitude when feedback was given regarding the bones. Service was very slow even though the restaurant was relatively empty at dinner time on a Friday. Staff seemed to be unsure of their products. Food so so. Price about $60 plus per pax. Standard dropped so much.

Absolutely the pits. Amateurish less than competent home cooking masquerading as a Chinese restaurant. Please avoid. The ultimate shocker was their version of the claypot rice. It was a few slices of Chinese sausage on steamed rice with some sauce poured over it. If they cannot cook, then really they shouldn’t be putting themselves out as a Chinese restaurant.

2022 CNY most disappointing lunch I ever had . The Yusheng sauce was over powering . The sharksfin soup was diluted . Lotus rice was mashy and wet, i thought the dessert would make us happier , a watery bowl of mango pomelo ! I would have a better choice for a $600 meal for 6 person . Since it was 1st day of CNY I don’t want to get upset anymore . Well , it’s our bad choice . Never again ! Business was quiet, serving staff was polite .

Avoid at all cost! This is possibly the worst restaurant with very bad service and food. There is this senior waiter from China (could tell from his accent). When he served the dessert, I asked him what is that and he said in Mandarin “dessert loh”. I asked him what dessert and he said “you can see from the menu.” Because it’s CNY, we had no choice but to order the set menu. They don’t serve ala carte during this time. The lohei is weird because they put 2 packets of sugar (yes, the same type of paper sachet for coffee) as the base. The claypot rice is just white rice in a claypot and drenched with some salty sauce and oil. The deep fried cod fish is mostly oily batter with little fish. This is supposed to be the original top 4 Chinese restaurants in Singapore during their heyday. It is a pity that the standard has dropped to rock bottom as it has today.

My family and I waited over an hour for the dishes to be served. The waiters also forgot to submit our orders and there were several times when we had to serve ourselves (e.g clear and change our own plates). What’s worse is that the manager ignored the feedback that we gave. Would not return for sure.
