Plus:
- definitely a passed for the black carrot cake.
- made to order ππ»
- very affordable, from $2.50 / $3 / $4 / $5.
- very impressed with uncle cooking the carrot, dressing up in old-school office wear and neatly tucked in
Minus:
- Auntie taking order is a little edgy.
- Half-black half-white available for $5 orders.
First time trying this stall, as I noticed a queue patiently waiting for fried carrot cake at 8.30pm. Ordered the black version without chilli, good size portion for $3. I was surprised with the generous portion of eggs in the dish, almost 50% and the rest being soft carrot cake. Definitely comfort food for me, worth coming back to try the white version.
πππ One of the best carrot cake ( Black Version ) I tasted all these year. There one at Toa Payoh but since the son take over , average. For this stall , price and portion affordable, the carrot cake soft and the eggs just the right amount. No regret . Simple cooking style but years of experience does counts to get the right yummiest taste . πππ
My family has been frequenting this carrot cake place for about 15 years and the quality has remained the same throughout. Amazing food, good spice in the chilli and the price range ranges from $3-$5. Very affordable! Possibly the best carrot cake in the region.
The carrot cake here is simple. The cake is very soft which I like and the egg has very crispy parts which tasted great. The only downside is that the plate was not consistently cooked. The chilli was not well spread out and some huge chunks had no crisp and tasted rather bland. But overall very good portion for $2.50 and wouldn't mind having it again although wouldn't go out of my way to have it.
